What symptoms are you having? Nothing really substantial; energy is even returning
Do you have any appointments this week? Yes! NT scan on wed, so glad it's almost here
Rants/Raves/Randoms? I finished organizing the closets in our two spare rooms. Step 1 in nursery prep!
QOTW - (playin it safe this week ) What was the last book you read? Was it good? The lunar chronicles, they were really good! I think it's in the teen section... But the series takes the old fairy tales (Cinderella, little red riding hood, rapunzel, Snow White) and re tells them in a future sci-fi way.
How many weeks are you? 13 weeks 4 days (thanks to EDD being moved up again at NT scan last week)
What is your baby the size of? a jalapeno or a peach
What symptoms are you having? my nausea and extreme fatigue have largely subsided (yay!), though I still sometimes have trouble thinking of anything that sounds good to eat. The biggest thing I'm noticing now is that I get full very quickly, even if I was ravenous when I started eating. I'm also peeing a lot, even more than before somehow.
Do you have any appointments this week? Nope, next one isn't until June 8th. It'll be an OB appointment and then I'll have my anatomy scan the following week (6/14)--less than a month away now!
Rants/Raves/Randoms? I told our HR lady on Friday about my pregnancy but was not able to tell anyone else that day, because the two partners I work for were not in the office and I didn't want to spread the news until after I got a chance to tell them. Well, I got to tell one of them today but not the other (the more senior one), and honestly I probably am not going to see him until this Friday (if even then) because we are both going to be out of the office at meetings, depositions, trial, etc. until then. In the meantime, another partner who I am friendly with stops by my office today to say congrats. Apparently the HR lady told her--WTF?? I thought that was a huge no-no! I'm really pissed that she did that, and now I'm torn on whether I should tell the other guy over the phone (even though I really wanted to do it in person) because otherwise I'm risking him finding out through the stupid grapevine. Ugh, so annoyed!
QOTW - (playin it safe this week ) What was the last book you read? Was it good? I'm finishing up Love in the Time of Cholera now. It's pretty good, not my favorite of all time but a good book for the subway commute.
What is your baby the size of? Toy soldier I think
What symptoms are you having? RLP, otherwise not much
Do you have any appointments this week? No
Rants/Raves/Randoms? None this week
QOTW - (playin it safe this week ) What was the last book you read? Was it good? I re-read Expecting Better by Emily Oster. It's my favourite pregnancy book.
What symptoms are you having? My energy is slowing coming back but I still have days of feeling nauseous and super tired.
Do you have any appointments this week? Nope
Rants/Raves/Randoms? My abs hurt today from all the packing we did this weekend. I really need to up my exercise especially if I want to attempt a med free birth again.
H has been talking to DS about the baby in my belly. Today DS pulled up my shirt and exclaimed I have a big belly. I guess I look more pregnant/chubby than I thought. Thanks for keeping it real, kid.
QOTW - (playin it safe this week ) What was the last book you read? Was it good? The Girl you Lost by Kathryn Croft. It was somewhat predictable but it kept me engaged.
dashook I loved the movie, Love in the time of Cholera! Must read the book now! I'm sorry the HR lady told others, I should know the answer to this because I used to work in HR but I forget. If he/she is your manager then it might be gray area as they have a business need to know.

Rants/Raves/Randoms? I'm going to ask my Dr about this, but I'm trying to decide when to switch drs. We are moving right around the time I'll be doing the anatomy scan and will have moved when my 20 week appointment comes up. So I'm trying to decide if I should switch after this next appointment or wait until after 20 weeks.
QOTW - (playin it safe this week ) What was the last book you read? Was it good? I read The Handmaid's Tale. I enjoyed it and thought it was interesting. I'd probably give it 3.5 stars out of 5.
What is your baby the size of? Multipurpose tool (Swiss army knife). This was was kinda weird for me so I switched the settings to Parisian bakery. Eclair was much lore appealing!!

Do you have any appointments this week? Nope. Just some blood work next week.
Rants/Raves/Randoms? I'm still annoyed at all the little things from my inlaws this weekend. Also @dashook, my manager did that to me last pregnancy. I told her and the next day 3 people came up to me and congratulated me. I hadn't even told some of my own friends from my department yet. This time I learned my lesson and just told her yesterday when I wa ready if it got out to anyone.
QOTW - (playin it safe this week ) What was the last book you read? Was it good? I'm reading book 3 of a neopalitan series My Brilliant Friend. The series has kept me interested for 3 books so far, so it's must be pretty good.

Yeah, the only two people who are the equivalent of my managers would be my supervising partners. When I spoke to HR on Friday, I made it clear that I'd be telling them before anyone else. So idk why she felt it was okay to bring others into the loop. Whatever. Can't unring this bell I guess haha

Do you have any appointments this week? Yes! I have my NT scan on Thursday.
Rants/Raves/Randoms? Nothing today.
QOTW - (playin it safe this week ) What was the last book you read? Was it good? Last "adult" book I think was the Maze Runner series last summer. It was ok. The last book in general that I read was Giraffes Can't Dance. I don't even know why I read that book anymore though, I literally have the entire thing memorized word for word.
What symptoms are you having? Here's a new one...every time my nipples get hard from being cold. My boobs hurt like 10 minutes. It's feels like lightening bolts. So weird.
Do you have any appointments this week? Not until next week.
Rants/Raves/Randoms? not much going on this week.
QOTW - (playin it safe this week ) What was the last book you read? Was it good? The glass house. Great book!

QOTW - (playin it safe this week ) What was the last book you read? Was it good? Current read but is very good - The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks by Rebecca Skloot
What symptoms are you having? Same old, same old...RLP, breast tenderness, MOTN wakefulness, frequent urination, feeling full really quickly when eating, then being hungry 30 minutes later. Does road rage count as one? Otherwise I feel really good.
Do you have any appointments this week? Check-up on Thursday
Rants/Raves/Randoms? I've been feeling some fluttery kicks for the last couple weeks That makes it feel very real. And now if we ask DS where the baby is, he points to his own stomach and says "baby stuck". Uhhh...
QOTW - (playin it safe this week ) What was the last book you read? Was it good? "In a Dark Dark Wood" by Ruth Ware; kind of a modern-day Agatha Christie suspense-murder mystery. Yes, it was very good. I believe it's being made into a movie in the next year or so.
jubilantsquirrel I read Maze Runner a while back and though I read the entire series I'm still not sure I really liked the characters or the plot twists. I dunno. It was ambitious and I was engaged in the sense that I spent most of my time being really mad at most of the characters...otherwise. Eh.
I definitely agree. It seemed like they tried too hard with the twists, not to mention it was really difficult trying to keep track of which team everyone was on. And also I couldn't get on board with the telepathy thing, or those weird metal monster.

How many weeks are you? 15w
What is your baby the size of? cinnamon roll
What symptoms are you having? nothing that I can attribute specifically to pregnancy
Do you have any appointments this week? nope
Rants/Raves/Randoms?
QOTW - (playin it safe this week ) What was the last book you read? Was it good? I read about 5-10 books a week, but the very last one I finished with Shattered, an old Dean Koontz novel that I somehow managed to skip in my earlier forays through his novels. It wasn't bad, but it was definitely dated, and that made it tough sometimes to really get into fully.
What symptoms are you having? Feeling a bit squished already, bladder and stomach. Yeast infection (treating with monistat will followup with OB on Monday) and a slight bladder infection (treating with tons of cranberry juice, working well).
Do you have any appointments this week? None. Next appt. Monday!
Rants/Raves/Randoms? Told my boss today it was very anti-climatic. His response to me saying, I'll be taking maternity leave in November because I'm pregnant was, "good for you, congratulations." Basically the exact opposite of what I was thinking he was going to do. Just made the whole awkward to me. Very little conversation surrounded the news. At least he said he wouldn't tell anyone until I said it was okay. I told him I'd let everyone know at our next staff meeting in June. Now, I'm a little nervous how this will change things, it shouldn't change anything but he's reaction made me unsure.
QOTW - (playin it safe this week ) What was the last book you read? Was it good? The last book I read was...Giraffe and a Half by Shel Silverstein, it was good and funny. Recommended for kids with attention spans because it repeats alot! The last adult book I read was...a long time ago and I can't remember what it was. I'm currently listening to "The Best of Our Spies". I enjoy espionage movies so I thought I'd try an espionage book. It's a WWII spy novel currently focused on Nazi sleeper spies and I have no idea where it's going to go. Talk about a random pick up.
sweetmelissa5 ...you read 5-10 books A WEEK?!! That sounds like a dream.
Yes, reading is my only real hobby, and I have an exercise bike set up in the living room with a baby gate blocking it from trouble babies that I ride for about an hour every day. I read my Nook while I'm on it, and I tend to read books that move fairly quickly, which is why the number probably seems kind of high.

What symptoms are you having? Nighttime nausea, dizzy spells, vertigo
Do you have any appointments this week? No
Rants/Raves/Randoms? Nothing I can think of
QOTW - (playin it safe this week ) What was the last book you read? Was it good? I honestly can't remember. Between selling our house, moving, then my health/pregnancy issues, my free time to read has been severely limited. 4 weeks, and my busy season will be over and I can start to do more things. Can't wait!
QOTW - (playin it safe this week ) What was the last book you read? Was it good? I read The Handmaid's Tale. I enjoyed it and thought it was interesting. I'd probably give it 3.5 stars out of 5.
The Handmaid's Tale is one of my top 5 all time favorite books. Margaret Atwood is one of the original dystopian writers.

QOTW - (playin it safe this week ) What was the last book you read? Was it good? I don't remember the last full book I've read. I tried reading some non-fiction but I never finish them.
