Have you seen the GOT trailer for season 5? It looks amazing! People say GOT has gotten boring (and I agree that season 4 just dragged on) but it seems like finally we are getting the show on the road! I haven't read a dissection of scene by scene but for those who have read them what are you excited for? Don't forget *Spoiler* possibilities!! Any other thoughts?
I saw some bootleg trailer a few weeks ago, and the quality was pretty shitty so I couldn't exactly tell what was going on. I don't care though, it's definitely my favorite show! I haven't read the books, although everyone says you have to because they're just as great as the show. I heard that this is the last season that they're following along with the book though and they're going to branch out on their own? Don't know if there's truth to that. I know there had been talk of Lady Stoneheart last season and this one, but the director shut that down completely. I'm still rooting for Daenerys!
I have not seen the trailer, but will now after my shower! I've only read the first book, even though we have the first five. We absolutely love the show and can't wait for it to come back!

I'm super excited for the new season! My mother lived under a rock and had never heard of GoT so now we are marathoning all previous seasons so she can get caught up. I'm rooting for Daenerys as well! And I want to see what's going to happen with Bran.

I'm so glad this was posted because I didn't know a trailer was out! I'm almost finished with the fifth book, and I love the show. Can't wait for the season premiere!
I hadn't heard they might not follow the book's story line... But I had said to my DH it would be cool if they stuck with what GRRM told them would happen and then GRRM wrote something totally different so we ended up with 2 endings. I am excited for Arya's story line and Tyrion's! It seems also like Bron and Jaime end up in Dorne so I am excited to see where they are going with that... And I hope we see more of Brienne! The books are definitely worth a read!! I can't wait to reread them, but they are quite the undertaking.
I heard they may not follow the books because he hasn't finished writing all of them yet, and they don't want to wait around for him to do so? Unsure if there's truth to that. I'm hoping they do a re-cap of the last season just because it's been so long since it was on!
I'm sure they'll do a small recap during the first episode. My favorite was when Brienne fought the Hound. That was badass! I have an ongoing debate with my sister whether he survived or not... And Tyrion... Oh Tyrion. I swear Peter Dinklage was going to get an Emmy for his courtroom performance (stupid Breaking Bad having its last season sweeping everything). It gave me goosebumps every time I watched it, and I had to watch it like 5 times. He's sure to have another amazing season.
As a reader of the books I'm excited for the new twists HBO's writers are bringing. I have no idea what is going to happen and that is super alluring. Is it here yet??
