Has anyone used essential oils to help manage symptoms? I've been trying some to calm anxiety and lift my mood. I just got my clary sage and bergamot in the mail and I'm excited to start using them! Just curious if anyone else has experience in this area.

Ohhhh! I love EO!!!
Bergamot is awesome for depression and mood. Be careful if you live in a sunny environment because it is photo sensitive and could cause you to burn in the sun.
Clary sage is good, but also exercise caution because it is like hormone rocket fuel. I'd only sniff it and not use it topically unless you are working with someone who is well versed in oils. Also, use caution if you have been drinking because it can cause some weird feelings.
I personally enjoy citrus oils to help uplift spirits. DoTerra has one called citrus bliss that is AMAZING and is pretty cheap.
I also like Peace and Calming from Young Living. That one is a little more $$.
I always try to buy certified therapeutic grade oils. They are more $$, but they are 100% natural and are not fake fragrance put in a carrier oil. A lot of "cheap" oils aren't pure and may have fake chemicals in them.
PM me with any . I've been an EO user for quite a few years.
I use "stress away" from Young Living, but I don't think I will buy more when I run out. There's a company called Eden's Garden that I am going to start ordering from. I know cruelsound has gotten stuff from them before. Whatever brand you choose, you can look one their site to see what the uses for each kind of oil are.
I've read really conflicting information about the safety of ingesting essential oils. I haven't read of anything where an actual aromatherapist (not someone selling doTerra or whatever) suggests doing that without consultation, personally, but of course do your own research. EOs are really potent and can effect medications, your bodily systems, etc. So that's my unsolicited word of caution. I'm not anti-EO, I just don't believe they are what the MLM companies say they are.
Oh thanks for the advice! So far I've just used a little on my wrists as aromatherapy. My sister likes Citrus Bliss from DoTerra too. I'll have to check out those other two companies.
I put lavender essential oils in my bath...on a related note, I am a big believer in using bath salts for mental wellness. I think Dead Sea Salts, or regular sea salts, or even Epsom Salts with a little essential oil mixed can really help with depression.

Citrus Bliss is amazing! We use it like crack in our house, and every time I put it in my diffuser in my office I get complements on it.

Im assuming you mean the actual bath salts for the tub and not the new designer drug! lol sorry that's all I think about when I see that as I used to work in the field!
I've used Young Living EO and really like the peace and calming as well as lavender. I feel it makes a difference. The peppermint is good for migranes as well.
LOL, hah, yes, salts for the bath not to inhale or whatever they might do with them.
I've used doterra's past tense (geared toward headaches) for muscle tension. My problem is that I get anxious when it starts working and I start to feel relaxed! I haven't used it much because of that.
Oh I LOVE essential oils! I'm from Canada, so I ordered some from a company called Sage in Vancouver, BC I love the lavender for baths and the peppermint for migraine/headaches. They also have a combo oil to combat over-eating! For the lavender, I usually put it directly into my baths too.. So relaxing.
