Hey ladies! So I've been MIA lately and a lot has happened!! Here's my story....
So I went to work Thursday morning at 7:30 (like a normal school day) but I had started having a lot of hip pain the night before. Around 9:45/10am I went to the bathroom and was spotting so I decided that I better go home and call the doctor. My doctor was off so OB sent me to L&D because I could get seen faster there. We arrived at L&D at 10:40am and after about 10 minutes in my room (while waiting for the OB on call to come check me) my water broke mid contraction. The resident OB said I was at an 8 but couldn't feel the head so she ordered an ultrasound. By the time the ultrasound arrived and the staff OB they checked me again and low and behold baby was head down, I was at a 10 and ready to push. After 45 minutes of med-free pushing we welcomed Diane into our family. She did immediate skin to skin for over an hour and we are still trying to master nursing but we came home tonight. She's such a peanut compared to DS and loves to sleep which won't last long. We also were less than prepared and have been finishing things now that we are home. She completes our family and couldn't be more perfect!! Now to get her some girly clothes since right now she's wearing DS's newborn stuff (which she drowns in!!). I'm off work until the end of August when it's time for teachers to report again and thankfulky am only missing the last 10 days of school.
It was a total surprise and I had to go 100% med free which was not in the plan at all. We had nothing ready and I didn't even have a hospital bag packed. So if you're close to the end I suggest you start prepping now!!
