I went in Wednesday morning for my c section and waited forever because they were running late. They started two IV ports and gave me lots of fluids and some antibiotics right before taking me back. Then she trimmed me up a little to prep. When they were finally ready for me they wheeled me back to the OR and I climbed up on the table to get my spinal placed. That wasn't nearly as bad as I thought it was going to be. It pinched a little, but not bad.
Once that was placed they had me lay down and put a towel roll under my right shoulder to keep me from laying flat on the spinal? Not really certain. They continued to hook me up to things and get me ready while we waited for the spinal to fully work. Once it was go time they let Blake in the room and things went really quickly.
They cut me open and did all that jazz. They cut the sac and a little water came out, but when they pulled her out it was like a cork and it was the most gloriously pressure relieving tsunami ever! Seriously, felt sooooo good! Then I cried when I heard her cry. Such emotion! They did delayed cord cutting, so she cried for a bit. They took her and made sure she was fine before we did skin to skin while they did my tubal and stitched me up.
Stats: 10lb 12oz, 21 inches long, born at 2:27pm
After I was ready to head to recovery my blood pressure started getting scary low, so I had to hand off the baby because I didn't feel safe holding her. After a bit my blood pressure came back up and all was well for a while. Though it did drop again in recovery. Blake and Ridley came with me to the room and we recovered for about an hour.
After things were stable people were allowed back in with us to continue recovering for about another hour before being moved up to the mother baby unit.
She's such a good baby! I am absolutely in love.
