I just saw in another post someone mentioned a 2 1/2yr check up. I swear our pedi said we didn't have to come back until she was 3. Now I'm thinking I heard him wrong. Is everyone else doing check ups at 2 1/2. I feel so dumb for asking this!
From what I've heard, it varies by ped. Our Ped in VA did 2.5 yr checkups, so I scheduled one when we moved to MN. The doc here did too, and we did it anyway because we needed forms for her new daycare anyway. You could always call your ped to double check.

3 here. But we took her in for a quick weight check to make sure he was ok with her gain of 2 lbs in about 8 months. She grew taller so he was fine with it.
We had a 2.5 but it was because our insurance covered it. Our pedi had us call and check before scheduling it, because not all insurances will cover a 30 month check-up. We didn't get shots or anything so I don't think you're missing anything.

The initial paperwork I got when Liam was an infant stated that checkups would be yearly after kids turn 2. Then at his 2-year checkup his pedi told us that they do 2.5 year checkups now and made sure we scheduled it. It seems like it's becoming more common but not all pedis are doing it yet.
We had one at 2 1/2 but the pedi said many insurance companies don't cover it, so if its not covered, not to worry about it and just come back at 3. They just like to make sure everything is going ok since a lot of signs developmental issues seem to develop between 2 and 3. But if you don't go until 3, its not really a big deal.

Our Pedi also does 2.5 year checkups but he was booked all January so we won't be going until next week. From what I've heard, it's just a generic check up, no shots.
