I know this is a little early, but anyone have any plans for Father's Day already? My in-laws are going on holidays for 10 weeks and will be gone by Then so we're celebrating with them on Sunday (plus throwing in a few birthdays that happen while they are gone). I fell down the rabbit hole that is Pinterest yesterday and found lots of cute ideas.
For FIL, we've gotten him the little critter just grandpa and me book, since he calls B a critter sometimes. We'll also make him a frame that says "the best dads get promoted to grandpa". I was thinking I'd put a picture of B and FIL, but maybe I'll do one with them and DH.
My dad we're giving him a framed picture of B from the NB photos, and possibly a "pop" basket of junk food.
For my DH I saw this neat sand footprint idea that I want to try. Now I just need to figure out something for B to make for my grandpa.

I;m really struggling here. MH isnt very sentimental, so I dont want to do any of the cutesy pinteresty stuff. Plus, its not like its his 1st Father's Day. So I need to get him and my father something. I'll prolyl get MH a bottle of scotch.

ETA: And where are your ILs going for 10 weeks? That sounds like a MASSIVE vacation lol.
I thought the same thing! Can i have a 10 week vacation thats not maternity leave?
FIL is retired and will be doing lots of heavy labour and SMIL can take her work with her, so not a complete vacation, but I'm a little jealous too, although with them leaving DH and I are house sitting (which means we move into their house, lots more space and a dishwasher FTW!)

For H's first Fathers Day I bought him stamped aluminum collar stays off Etsy. He is forever losing those plastic ones from the dry cleaners. One stay says "Happy 1st Father's Day!" The other has a heart and DS1's first and middle name. He likes to call him by both because his middle name was his grandfathers name and they were bffs. For his first Christmas as a dad I made framed a handprint of DS1 and wrote "Dad: A Son's First Hero."
Last year I made a salt dough disc with DS1's shoe print. It was supposed to be a footprint but 1.5 yr olds are always cooperative so I gave up and pressed his shoe. I also made a card with an u/s pic of DS2 that said " I can't wait to meet you soon!"
This year I will prob make a card from both. I also plan on getting him a beard brush/comb set with beard conditioner. He's a legit lumberjack beard going and he keeps stealing my hairbrushes to keep the best in check.

I need ideas! The only thing I have thought of is a new crock pot, one that allows temp control. My H is the one that cooks and we need a new one, BAD But a crackpot? For Father's Day? I don't know...

Does he have any guilty pleasure foods? Buy the crockpot and fill it with those, then do a simple craft with LO if YH is the sentimental type. Are you a Pinterester?

DH didn't get me a present, so mine to him won't be much. I'm going to do a frame of DD for his work. Since he basically let me relax on Mother's Day, he already started hinting at requesting sex for Father's Day. Lol

He works all day so no plans really. I'm going to order a personalized key chain for him from Etsy and probably get some of the body wash that he likes.
As for my dad, he's also going to get a personalized key chain. I'm letting my husband figure out what to do for his dad.
We didn't do anything for mothers day so I might do a card? It is also our anniversary around the same time so I might just get something and throw both together. I'm guessing he will also request sex.

My plan since before mothers day didn't happen, has been an exotic car tour. There is a location not too far from us that let's you drive 3 cars of your choice for 3 hours. It was going to be a combo fathers day/birthday present because it's pricey. BUT big issue now is the other guy who was going to go (because you can buy one seat or 2, and one is obviously cheaper and DH will NOT be in the car with a stranger driving) is the dad of the July baby we know who was just born so he's not doing it now. So now my options are bail also and think of something else, or pay the extra to buy the 2nd seat myself so DH can drive the whole 3 hours (that way I don't also have to pay double the security deposit) and make it a fathers day/birthday/Christmas present.
I could probably justify bailing altogether since my mothers day gift was bad chinese food, but I was looking forward to this for him. Since we got together every time DH sees an Audi he says "get that for my birthday?" so he'd shit a brick if he got to drive one.

Good idea! I'll have to think about what to fill with...he's seriously the most disciplined eater. Annoying! Lol

H is going to be in charge of his FIL. I just can't with that man.
I'm on a waiting list for the "daddy love" best bottoms diaper I thought maybe I could get a Velcro cover because H really likes them. There's also a keychain thing or I'm getting for him.
As for the actual day, idk. Maybe I'll make him fried chicken or whatever he wants.
