DH and I found out we are expecting #2 (due in January), and the name discussion has already come up again.
I am at a loss for a name that would sound good as a sibset with DS. We lean towards more traditional and well-known names, but nothing super old-fashioned. Our favorite girl name is popular, but I would like to try and avoid popular if possible lol.
DS' name is Travis Karel (Karel is a family name) and our last name is two syllables and starts with an S and ends with "es."
Girls -- MN Marie
Marie is a common MN in my family, and his grandmother's name is Maria, so we want to keep that as the MN.
Ava -- Top name on our list even thought it is popular
Kathryn -- another favorite from the last list we made, but a bunch of women in his family are named Catherine (various spellings) we would have to give her a unique NN to set her apart
Madeline -- popular
I also like names that have the -anna/ana at the end.
Boys --
MN is going to be Richard We used one of my family names with DS, so I want to use a male family name with this one if it is a boy. It is not an option as a FN because there is a Richard, Richard II, and Richard III on his side.
Alexander -- still love this one even though it is popular
Caleb
Cameron
Dominic
Eric/Erik
Miles
Trent
It took us so long last time to finally agree on DS' name. This list is from when we were discussing names after we found out DS was a boy. I eliminated a few names because friends and/or family have used them since then.
I am completely open to suggestions and/or name advice. I welcome brutal honesty.
