Skidaddles, All about kids, drop in daycare-ever use them?

I work part time and we have a part time nanny. Our nanny is excellent, but she has 4 grown children and more grandbabies on the way. She will occasionally work an extra day for us, but usually just covers my two 10 hour work days.

I have really struggled with back up care. Our nanny takes 2 weeks/vacation/year. I usually use my vacation to cover this. My husband's cousin is an XU student and can help us some. I have a SAHM neighbor that can help us some as well. My in-laws work full time and my mom doesn't help me at all (so frustrating)! I usually take my kids with me everywhere! I really don't have any other options for back ups or last minute care. I am so nervous to use a daycare facility...but my twins will be 3 in April and I think we can start considering it when we get in a bind. Our jobs are not very flexible and it is really hard to get last minute time off.

Has anyone used Skidaddles in Mason or an All about kids? Know of any other places that offer drop in care?

Hi and welcome kdr1979! I use an in-home caregiver so I'm no help with the daycare info. Sorry. I do know that mominthemaking14 will be using The Sunshine House in Mason.

My sister took my niece to Kidz Watch in Montgomery. It was easy and convenient, but nothing I would do on a regular basis. My niece literally came home with some illness every time she went, they never gave her lunchbox back, never had anything to say other than she didn't nap or eat her lunch while there, and somehow went through a whole package of wipes in 3 visits. They just weren't nearly as organized as you would want for an everyday daycare, but perfectly fine for an occasional situation.

We use The Sunshine House today was my first day so not alot to report but I'm slightly OCD so I did a ton of research. Plus for the price you get free diapers, wipes and Similac Advance. It's a great deal. If you do check it out PM me good luck.

I work at Creme de la Creme in Mason. (On Natorp blvd past graeters) it is a private preschool beginning at 6 weeks old to school age. While we are not a drop in child care, I would strongly encourage you to stop by if your nanny situation ever changes.
