We are getting hit by a tropical storm so the weather is super crappy! We should have rain and high winds until tomorrow. Hopefully my drive home from work won't be too bad!
I'm getting back on my diet and exercising today. I let it go the last few weeks and I need to stay focused on my goals!

@adulruna, ignorant question. our daycare lady is Muslim. Do I wish her a Happy Ramadan? Is that weird? Do I get a card? She give us a Christmas gift.
@giamia923, I think that we should roll the meal-planning/exercise thread into a single healthy living thread. Does everyone agree?
N40Mom,i googled "simple bridal updos"... I'm liking some of the takes on a french twist. Do you like slick/tight, or flowy? Notsure about the little blood vessels. but please, don't feel like a bad mom. You're not.
@kait20122014, OMG, it's always something with your kiddos I'm so sorry.

We had a great weekend. This week is Ca-Ra-Zeee at work. yikes! Visiting friends with a new baby tonight and taking them a beef stroganoff casserole (we made one for us too!)
@giamia923, you're doing a great job! Even if cutting redbull hasn't changed the scale yet, it's making a big difference in your health. Remember overall health is a lot more than just a number and a size.
N40Mom, It sounds like a side effect of the crying, but if you're worried it doesn't hurt to call.
We have had a rough morning. C woke up crying and that's pretty much all he's done today. Everything is meltdown worthy. I'm trying to be firm and consistent, but he is really testing the limits today.
Thank you melw629 ! I'm feeling better now that I talked to them. I thought it was a side effect too but of course logic goes out the window when you become a Google Doctor. I'm sorry C is having a rough day. Has he had a nap yet? If not, hopefully after a nap he'll be in a better mood. Toddlers ...
I completely understand about knowing there is nothing they can do that you can't, but still feeling like you want to take them in @kait20122014 . I'm glad both girls are feeling better today. Hopefully fighting off a virus is all it was and the fever will not come back. Good luck with getting the behavior back in order. But, she needed cuddles and a bit of leniency this past week, so you did the right thing.
He just went down for a nap, with no complaints. I'm hoping he wakes up in a better mood.

anniebn, that's a sticky situation. I'm assuming your BFF is not a parent?
Personally, my H would not be upset about my taking L to visit a friend for a few days without him. But if he was available to come, he'd much rather us go as a family.
It's weird that your BFF initially invited the three of you, but now only wants two or one of you to go. Just tell her that's not an option. That any vacation time or money you spend is going to be done as a family.
I will say, in your friend's defense (I guess), is that there have been times where i was absolutely uninterested in hanging out with my friend and her H together when they had been rocky. It made ME feel stressed out on her behalf, and was very uncomfortable when they argued. She probably a) is protective of you and sad that things have been a little rocky for you and your H and b) doesn't want to be around then tension.
Ok, I'm starting to feel like a bad mom. I picked up J on Friday and it was very close to nap time and she had an epic meltdown. She was screaming and crying and it took me 20 minutes to get her in the car. Afterwards, I noticed tiny red dots, like the size of a pin point, on her cheeks. I assumed they were due to busted blood vessels from her screaming and crying so hard for so long. They're starting to fade. Now I'm Googling it and getting concerned that I should have taken her to a doctor as even the nicest diagnosis says "should be seen by doctor." Anyone else ever see this?
When V was about 6 months or so she screamed bloody murder at daycare and they said they watched the spots pop up as she screamed. We did still take her to the pedi who had us go for labs just to be safe. I think It could have been indicative of a clotting disorder but the pedi was 95% sure it was rage induced.
judyblume14, rolling the threads into one sounds like a good idea. I have to admit, when I saw you say "ca-ra-zee" at work, I spent more time than I should have trying to figure out if this was some regional festival, annual work event, etc. Have fun visiting your friends and the baby! Your casserole sounds good.
I left a message on the nurse line and they said it sounds like she was just crying too hard and burst some blood vessels, so if she has no signs of anything else wrong and they're fading, not to be worried. All these sites were like "it could signify a serious disorder like meningitis. Take to the doctor immediately." Geez.
For hair, judyblume14, I tend to go a little loose with my up-dos. My hair hits a couple of inches below my shoulders, with some layers in there. I'm liking the French twist as well.
I like this:
I don't think my hair would hold something like this:
Those are fun! I did a similar style for my sister's wedding a few years ago and I think my hair was the same length as yours
me on the right
you can kind of see the side view from far away here.

Blah is right. I am so tired right now.
I like that updo vavavictoria. Simple but elegant. You should go for that one N40Mom.
anniebn - My H would probably be the same way as yours. He has always been kind of "weird" about us being apart for very long though. Even before kids he wasn't keen on me being gone very long OOT. But he was kind of the same way. The only time he has really gone somewhere without me has been for work and he is usually trying to get back as soon as possible. What are her general feelings on your H? Did they get along in the past? I would just try to talk to her and see what her issue is, and maybe try to figure out plans from there.
N40Mom - I'm glad I'm not the only one with a drama "queen" toddler. The fits my kid can throw, it is something to behold. He has also mastered the pitifully sad face quite well when he doesn't get what he wants.

Hugs for having to go back to work @adulruna. Were you able to even look for any other jobs while on mat leave? Maybe not WFH, but with another company or something? Just wondering, I know how miserable you were.
spacedcadet I honestly never got a chance and my supervisor says it's gotten better. Apparently she talked to my manager and said that I was better and more knowledgeable than the other leads combined and my ice queen manager actually said that she knew that. So, that makes me feel a tiny bit better. But, honestly, I don't want to start from scratch again. My degree doesn't mean shit here in the US and I can't afford to go back to school either. Spanish translators are a dime a dozen and I don't have another language to fall back on. At least, i know i'm stable where I'm at. It sucks. I hate being a comformist.
I understand. Hopefully it is better than when you left. Just being bilingual is a big asset where I am, so I would assume that would give you a leg up in finding something else, if you still aren't happy, but I obviously don't know what the situation where you are is or your other qualifications or whatever. I hope I am making sense.
I also laughed at "rage induced" vavavictoria. I only laugh because that perfectly describes Friday pick up. At one point she was laying in the grass with one shoe on screaming. At another she was laying across her car seat, dangling upside down trying to get away from me and I had her by the feet trying to safely pull her back in. It took me 15 minutes to get her strapped in her car seat. A mom was in the car next to mine breastfeeding and watching the whole time. She had full viewing access, as all four of my car doors were open. Why is that you ask? I don't even know how it happened.
I love those pictures, you and your hair look beautiful.
As the mom of a toddler who just had a 20 minute meltdown bc ? I feel you on this. Today I'm not sure if she was upset bc she had to have a diaper on or bc I asked her if she wanted to brush her teeth but apparently either option was very out of Line. V is very strong willed and has lots of feelings. She goes nuts over random stuff. I figure the next year or so will be fun. Especially with a newborn.
spacedcadet you are. I get it. It sucks. Maybe i'm not looking hard enough? I don't know.
In other news, why are black flats so hard to find?
I'm having the same problem with brown flats. I've been looking for a simple pair for about a year now. Grrr. Thankfully I can wear sandals all summer and can worry about that in the fall. Have you looked at target or kohls?
And now I'm too tired to tag everyone to respond but hugs to those who need them, sorry for the sick kiddos, especially you kait! How scary with A's fever!
