DH and I can't agree on a first name for a boy and I am 99% sure I am pregnant with a boy (about 20wks along).
When I was pregnant with DD we loved the name Elliot, but now we have an Emmett and a Violet. Elliot sounds WAY to "intentional matchy sib-set" with those.
I like Germanic names, DH likes British/English names. I swear we have been through every eff-wording name a dozen times and just can't agree! Someone help, pretty please!
#1 - 10/10 | #2 - lost but not forgotten 10/12 | #3 - 7/13 | #4 - 5/15 Diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer 12/19/16 Finished with chemo 4/27/17! Double mastectomy summer 17 Radiation fall 17
I love Arthur and Harold/Harry. DH can't get over a bad name association with Harry, even though he's a Harry Potter fan, so that should cancel it out! I can't remember why he didn't like Arthur but that was a no from him too. If I'm picky, he's impossible. He doesn't like ANYTHING, and is the type that finds it easier to say "No" to my suggestions than to make any of his own.
Hadn't considered Leo or Philip but I really like both of those with the middle name we have picked and with the sib names!
I love your kids' names! Emmett was on our short list for our little boy. We ended up going with Harrison.
I'll suggest...
Abram/Bram Charles Graham Henry Ian Jasper Lucas Miles Nathaniel Oliver Patrick Rhys Samuel William
I really like almost all of these, Oliver and Charles in particular, but my party pooper DH said No.
I am not joking when I say I might wait until he leaves the room or falls asleep and fill out the birth cert alone.
My H is a total pain in the ass when it comes to naming kids, and I we managed to name our son without any bloodshed and have a working list of names for #2, so have faith. It can be done!
Do you guys have any family names you can agree on? A name of someone you'd like to honor or anything like that?
We decided on Harrison because it was a family name on both sides. His mn is my H's mn, and I love it because it's an animal name which satisfies my hippie, nature-obsession and native American ancestry, and it also honors my nephew that passed away from brain cancer.
All that to say, that perfect name is out there and you'll find it. It may just take a little digging. Instead of asking your H point blank about names, ask him what's most important to him about the name. Meaning? Honor? His favorite book, teacher, athlete? I think once you get the wheels turning in his head, he'll offer a few more opinions.
Elias Armin Corbin Vincent Emil Gunther Henrik Ivor Caspar Johan/Johannes Reuben Alistair Kurt Hugo Luther Oswin Casimir Finian Ivo Cecil Torben Rainer Conan Leon Grant Stefan Victor Ulrich/Ulric Roderick Sinclair Walter

Good luck!
I *think* we may have finally landed on two possibilities. I actually made a list of names based on things I know he is into, so kind of what you suggested, but without waiting months for him to "Think about it a little more"
Marco - after his biggest inspiration as a chef
Edgar - after Edgar Allen Poe who he likes a lot (though I worry we'do be guaranteeing a tortured soul, naming a kid after Poe so close to Halloween, haha)
He actually LIKES Marco, and Edgar was "good" which is high praise coming from him.
