I'm impressed with everyone researching baby purchases already. I'm pulling up he rear here, but I'm still in the "is this really happening" mindset.
I can't stress the importance of a good chair enough. My DH had some old worn down glider from his parents house he brought over and was insistent on it. My butt literally hurt so bad for weeks and I was super uncomfortable sitting in it. I eventually went out months later and bought a new comfy one. Whatever type of chair you get, make sure it's comfortable!

You and me both, I'm having a hard time feeling like it's real yet, and still have almost 2 weeks until my appt. End of month probs.
Sooooooooooo due to some circumstances at work they are planning PTO really early apparently - I just got asked to have requests through February in by Tuesday! Sooo early! Do I Bite the bullet and tell them life permitting I won't be there at all in February?
That's really tough. Have you told anybody else? I don't think I would tell them since I personally am not sharing the news with anyone yet. I guess I might be influenced by whatever the circumstances were that made them need to know PTO. Good luck!
As far as baby purchases go, I had a spreadsheet of all the things we needed for DS (I'm a Type A must-plan-everything type), so I just went in and checked what all we'll need new. I think the major stuff is just a new car seat (since I hated the old one and sold it), a bouncy chair (realized I needed something a little more compact and mobile than our giant swing), and a new diaper bag, since ours is getting worn out. We're going to move DS to a day bed so that we don't need another crib.
About the nursery chair, I feel so bad. When we were knee-deep in TTC, we visited this really nice Amish furniture store, and I fell in love with a rocking chair there. After we found out we were pregnant with DS, DH tracked down the artisan who made that chair and commissioned one from him. It is BEAUTIFUL - but it is so uncomfortable, even with the padding I bought for it. My butt cheeks were numb for a month!

geekmama, Type A here also, and a first time mom, so I'm going to need all of the things. As a planner I want to be sure I know what prices are good and be ready if there is a sale. I bought this book Baby-Bargains-Secrets-furniture-maternity and it has been super helpful.

For any FTM interested, The Pregnant Chicken has a lot of good info in regards to what to buy, what's just nice to have, and what is virtually useless. Also, she has some great hospital bag packing lists/tips.

I have a spreadsheet from what we needed the last time. I now need to go and adjust that. I only looked at recliners, because baby or not it would be so nice to have one.
I am getting sharp pains when I move around above my pelvic bone. It's annoying but I'm chalking it up to growing pains.
How long would you guys wait to hear back from a dr/mw with bloodwork?
I called at noon like the told me to. They said they had the bw back, and would have a midwife give me a call back soon. I asked for the specific one that I've been speaking with, and I have her cell number, but haven't heard back. I don't want to text her and be a pain in the ass, for all i know she's in a birth. should I call the office back and just ask for any of the MWs to let me know? or just wait?

Lucie's List also has good recommendations for gear. Last time I was a big slacker and it all turned out okay.
I do want a rocker/glider this time. Last time I made do with the couch but our house has a different floor plan and I don't have my side table anymore. Still have the infant car seat and travel system.
Need a new breast pump because the free one was crap and the one I bought off a local mama was dying at the end. I need a schmancier one this time.
aprilz81 best wishes for your MIL. I understand your frustration. Denial can be an incredible thing especially when dealing with a potential like cancer. But no one can change that part now and she's getting treatment, so hopefully it works out for her.

ETA: I'm east coast, its after 4pm here.
I rarely hear back about bloodwork before 3 or 4 days unless it's rushed. I'd just wait until tomorrow to give a call about it.

pibblemom, I had blood work two weeks ago and never heard back. I honestly forgot about it until now. I have my nurse visit tomorrow though so I'll ask then. I'd wait and call tomorrow.

pibblemom, I am still getting my labs back, our dr uses a website, so two or three times a week I get notified by email that a test result is in, and I can go look at it. Today I found out I don't have AIDS. yesterday was my blood type B+. My blood draw was 5/31...

peaseblossom55, we did a cooking class for our last anniversary, it was great, but it took too long to eat the food and I started to get Hangry with the people in the class with us who had never held a spatula before. Its funny now, but I was ready to throw down.
thanks everyone, I can't believe some of you have waited that long!! This was for 3rd betas and progesterone.. I'd flip a shit if I had to wait 3-4 days for it. I just called and let them know that if ___ was busy than any of them would be fine. She was just my preference because I've been speaking with her.

peaseblossom55, that sounds like so much fun! What a great idea. Our anniversary is in two weeks.... I wonder if it's too late. ETA: my anniversary is next Wednesday.... Not in two weeks. Oops.
