Pretty sure I have a clogged milk duct. There's a tender bump on my right breast. I tried massaging it out in shower and I don't think it helped. I have been pumping and that didn't help either. Ugh.
For me, time is the only thing that helps. Warm compresses and massages don't do anything. Just time and nursing/pumping.
Sometimes when I really need to get something done, I will stick DS in front of the tv and turn on Little Einsteins. The music and the moving colors really hold his attention! And I don't feel guilty because I don't see how it's any different than using his sound machine to play music and project a moving slide on the ceiling.
@pennygirl2013 booooooo! Periods are lame! Though I will say, this one has been light, and I haven't had any cramps. Normally my period is accompanied by wicked cramps all day for 2-3 days. Like the kind of cramps that make you curl up in the fetal position and vomit. Maybe childbirth changed my periods?!
Is anyone here familiar with Fertility Friend app? I used it for 15 months while TTC, but obviously stopped using it once I became pregnant with DS. Does anyone know if there is a way to mark that you had a baby? I marked that I had positive pregnancy tests last July, but I don't know if I can mark a birth.
And no I'm not TTC again! Just want to track my periods.

Will it start over if you mark a period?
Well I marked my period that started on Saturday. But I was hoping to mark a birth too. I dunno.
One thing about Ohio - you can't drive more than ten miles without running into a University.
Lol, none of the above. Though I looked at ONU. Wound up at Defiance, Bluffton were our big rivals. I was still in college when they lost their bus full of the baseball team :-(
I totally forgot about Defiance. That was tragic when that happened in Bluffton. We live only a few miles away from Bluffton and the experience touched so many lives. One of my coworkers' brothers-in-law was the driver
I know someone who asked why babies shouldn't be propped in front of the tv. Her baby wasn't happy unless she could see it. Her baby needed a helmet because all they did was prop her bouncer in front of the tv and walk away. I'm guessing that kind of situation is why the pedi asks.
Y'all, my "mentor" for my new role at work just sent me a piece of documentation that is basically full of stuff like "don't be late to meetings and don't bad mouth our clients where they can hear you" which OBVIOUSLY, and CC'd a full 5 people on it, including my manager, another manager, someone I manage, and 2 other super junior randos. I've been at the company for 8 years, I manage several of her peers and some of the people senior to her on her team, and am myself very senior to her. Why am I being sent a 3-page document on workplace etiquette, and why do 5 people need to be CC'd on it?
The pediatrician asks every time about screen time. He's a baby... I don't think it counts yet. D never watched TV until three. Just not interested. Now she watches too much. Generally, she only watches it on weekends. She loves action movies like Avengers and TMNT.
Something I've noticed with my friends who have restricted their kids from watching any TV in the younger years is that once they're allowed to they seem to become fixated with it when it's on. A few of DDs friends become pretty much zombies as soon as they see TV. DD on the the other hand isn't that bothered. She might watch 10 minutes or so and then wanders off to play. She just not that interested.
There is evidence that too much TV in the developmental years can affect speech as well and this was something that I was more mindful of. Even now, anything with baby or nonsense talk gets turned off.
heartbot I've had new employees talk to me like I don't know what I'm doing since coming back from mat leave! They hired a ton of new people 1-2 weeks before I came back. So I will trade out rooms with them, and they will start explaining how to do something. I'm like "yup I know! I've been here four years!" They are always confused and I have to explain they haven't seen me due to being on mat leave.
I tried to put a 6m onsie on M yesterday and it didn't fit. I got out the bin of 9m clothes and sure enough, the sleepers and onsies fit great. H was born in May and I thought we could reuse his clothes but he stayed true to size and his 9m stuff was all sweaters and long sleeves. Looks I need to go shopping again.
So there's this big parade for the Cavs today and there is a 4 hour wait to get on the train downtown! We're not going cause of the baby, but my siblings tried to go. They came over and dropped by for waffles and now they're trying to drive into the city (after they failed by train lol). Good luck!
I hate that DS1 is sick. I don't want to take him anywhere to play and get others sick, or for him to get worse. I'm getting cabin fever. We can't even play in the backyard due to construction on the patio roof.
Looks like a trip to McDonald's for coffee is going to be the highlight of my day. ...again
We are trading sickness here, too. It sucks. I just hope the baby avoids it. I hope your son feels better and no one else gets it.
jags8, so cute! How do you not take them all home?
Because I know those cute kittens will grow to be stinky adult cats like the one I already have The dogs on the other hand...omg. There was a beautiful female pitty there today. She was sweet and had a beautiful, shiny, dark brown/grey coat.
I just posted this on SAIF but I'll post here too. My friend just told me she's 13 weeks pregnant! I'm so happy...they tried for years and debated ivf. I guess they finally decided to go through with it in July but got a surprise bfp ! Yay!

Please tell me this is all just a phase! My 6/7 week old is vile! When he is awake he is mostly crying and acting like he's in pain. And wants to be held all the time. It's the whole purple peak, right? And it's going to get better real soon, right? Right?!

So I've been really sick the past few weeks, constant heartburn, indigestion. It's like my entire digestive tract has revolted. I've been to the gastroenterologist and they've put me on a daily pill. Bad news is no more dairy for a while and now I have the blandest diet ever. Plus, they couldn't give me the strongest meds because breastfeeding. Hopefully I'll feel better before I have to go back to work in 2 weeks.

Hang in there! I'm about where you are right now, but 8 weeks. I haven't been able to leave the apartment all week because our little guy loses it about 5 minutes into any trip. He's fed, changed and napped but won't even take a walk outside. Oh and he hates the carrier, doh!
