Im not having a good night so im just going to copy & paste the update directly from our public page.
Good evening! Well today has been a bit of a roller coaster for Jackson. After continuing to have oxygen levels that were decreasing the doctors decided to do another chest X-Ray. His lungs have continued to fill with fluid and become more cloudy. After a failed attempt to control it with medication the doctors decided to change him over to a rapid pulse ventilator. It will keep his lungs inflated full time and pulses in oxygen at a higher rate. They are hoping that this new ventilator along with the antibiotics he is on now will clear his lungs up. Tomorrow he has an echocardiogram scheduled to make sure the artery that runs between his heart and his lungs has not opened up again. This isn't exactly the way we wanted to start 28 weeks but I guess Jackson decided life was a bit too boring! I will keep you all posted as we know more.
I'm sorry Jackson's having a hard time lovetruly2015. I hope everything becomes stable and starts improving very soon. He's already shown what a little fighter he is.

Sorry i haven't updated the last couple days I've been pretty out of it. PP hormones are no joke. Mix in stress and its a tornado. DH seems to be so good at yhus that I an once again going to copy paste whay he put up on our public page. Baby Jackson weighs 2lbs5oz now.
June 26th: Well we finally have some answers! Jackson had a pretty quiet night. His ventilator settings stayed the same and his blood gas levels increased slightly which is good. He was diagnosed with a staph infection in his lungs which is causing his oxygen issues. Unfortunately this is all too common territory for premature babies on ventilators. They started him on antibiotics and will continue to monitor him. They did an X-Ray on his chest this morning and said his lungs already showed some improvement. He had a blood transfusion over night because his levels were slightly low. His echocardiogram was rescheduled for tomorrow morning because the doctors didn't want to stress him too much. They don't expect to see anything but are doing it to just be thorough. We will see what tomorrow brings!
Yesterday: Well not much change in Jackson's condition today. His oxygen levels have been up and down all day. He had an echocardiogram today and the preliminary read is that his PDA (the artery between his heart and lungs) has gone from small to tiny which is a good thing. He is on a cocktail of medications for his staph infection. We are hopeful that he will be able to be weaned back to the other ventilator soon and then weaned off all together. His feeding amounts have gone up again and he is continuing to gain weight. We are grateful for that!
lovetruly2015 glad to hear there are some ups (even with the frustrations of the downs). PP hormones are awful, I can't imagine how bad they are with added stress

I just caught up on your last few updates, I'm so sorry for the setbacks Jackson has had, but hopefully the improvements continue. He is such a strong little boy!

Sucks about the setbacks, but that's great that you have answers and that he's doing better now. You are so strong! He is such a cutie pie with all his hair!

Hey guys just a quick update from the last couple days. When I went to vist Thursday he was having a really hard time. His oxygen levels where at extreme highs and lows every few minutes, the alarm was constantly going off. It wasn't to bad at first but as the night went on ot got worse and worse. After a while DH and I tried to tell thr night nurse they he needs to be unswaddled because he likes to move so hes probably stessed that he can't moved and she pretty much ignored us just kept trying to adjust his levels every few minutes with no results. It pissed us off to no end. We ended up leaving and calling the charge nurse after. She said she would take care of it. Yesterday when we whent it he was doing soooo much better he was back in track with what he was before he was still swaddled but that nurse did it so right he was wrapped loosely. He had his hands and arms free and his legs where wrapped but he could still move a little so go figure mom and dad where right and he just didn't like not being able to move. We don't know hows he doinv today yet we have a couple more stops to make before we get there. On another positive note DH took today off and has monday off too, so I get three whole days to spend with him. Woohoo.
