Yay Monday? I am actually kind of glad it's here, we were cooped up a lot this weekend with the potty training. DH, in particular, was getting stir-crazy; I'm sure he's glad to be back at work today.
Not much on our agenda; DS has speech and we need to make a trip to the post office (thrill).
We're hosting some friends for a BBQ this weekend and I'm trying to decide on what to make...burgers and hotdogs, etc., or (DH's suggestion) a taco/fajita bar. I also need to get my rear in gear on Father's Day stuff.
LizInFL We are having a bbq this weekend, too! We are getting brisket and sausage for ours. I'd vote for a fajita/taco bar. Yum. But I've also been craving Mexican a lot with this pregnancy.
I'm also super slacking on Father's Day. Last year I got DH 3 pictures of him and L that spelled out DAD. I'd like to get him something else for his classroom, but I don't know what. Her handprint? Maybe she can make something with me? I don't know.
Today we are going down to the old house because the floor people are starting installation today. Then we'll be taking DH's car to the dealer to see what they'll give to us for it. We are going to sell it, but we'd like to get enough to cover what's left on his loan and have a bit left over. We'd definitely do well selling it ourselves, but that's more complicated so we're exploring other options first.
Otherwise just unpacking more. Counting down the days until Thursday...
ClassyMrsA I just did this year's D.A.D. Pictures. It was so much easier with a 4 month old! Other than that I got him a text shirt that says top dad (like top gun) and a card.
Of course I just asked him what he wanted to do this weekend and clearly didn't realize it was father's day... I am guessing he hasn't taken care of his dad yet.
What a crazy morning. We usually leave H's jeep at our house and just use my car for back and forth because we work at the same place, commute together, and don't do much separately through the week esp because house reno takes up our time right now.
Well this morning we had to bring my car to the dealer bc it's making a noise and the warranty is up soon. So we had to go out of our way at 6:30am to pick up his car, drop mine off, pick up a prescription, go to work, leave work to get my car, drop his jeep off, back to work.. All before noon... Is it bedtime yet?
I am about to have to pull out maternity pants and it makes me want to cry.
I got all of mine out and only the shorts fit - too big in the thigh. Yet most of my regular pants don't fit either. Dresses and skirts for the foreseeable future.

Yes! And yoga pants as soon as I am back in the house although most of my maternity dresses don't look quite right yet either.
Yuck danib, I too believe in karma but do you know if she was going to a doctor's appointment that she didn't want her kid(s) at? When my mom was starting her cancer stuff, she didn't want us kids to go along. But if she just didn't want to do child care anymore, I agree that's just bad form!
I had a long day! Monday's are my longest days so they just wipe me out. I have an appointment tomorrow! I'm nervous they'll be concerned of my lack in weight gain and PgAl brain has me a little nervous too

no she said where she was going (I just summarized in my post) and there's other reasons I know the sick thing was a lie.
Ha not really. I sent Him a message asking if there was anything he wanted to do and by his response it was clear he didn't even realize it was father's day weekend. I am guessing that means his father isn't taken care of lol.
I suggested we go to one of the cider breweries in the area, it would be a day trip with food and such so we may so that.
We'll probably do a late lunch/early dinner of his choice since DH has softball on Sunday nights. I also did a handprint craft with the kids (I always get handmade stuff from school for Mother's Day, but preschool ended a few weeks ago, so I try to make up the deficit), but beyond that, we don't really celebrate.
