Family photos today. The baby is going there naked because this would be the one day she barfs. I took pics of DD1s hair so there is proof I did try. It's not as sunny or warm as I'd hoped and baby is cranky but I'm still excited.
This is going to be a bad week. A lot of crap at work, and a likely sick baby. I'm already exhausted. Honestly, if she can't' go to DC this week we're screwed. Both MH and I are swamped at work and we have no family around to help (not that it would really matter since my mom and dad still work.)

Good luck solo parenting bluebird44. I hope your LO is well enough for DC kensie5226. I know what that's like. While most of my family is in state, everyone works, so it's down to MH and me if our kids are sick. We both each took off 1 day last week w C. His eyes were so goopy this morning, I was worried DC would/will try to send him home.

E went down without too many problems last night, but then 11:30 hit and OMG the kid would not go back to sleep. How is she so hungry? I gave her a damn triple and she finally slept in my arms an hour or so later. And, for the record, SHE was the one who popped off the boob, signaling she was done. I did not force her. But she wouldn't settle and kept waking me up.
So I slept in the chair. H came in at 1:30 when he finally decided to go to bed and asked if I wanted help moving her. Gentle, he is not. So I said I would stay and let her sleep there a little more. An hour later I was getting into bed. She woke at 5:30 and seemed pretty serious about staying awake. I'm dead. I'm PMSing and it's making the fatigue so much harder.
But, it's cloudy and not too hot so I think I'll take E to the park after she eats after she wakes from this nap. Which has been about an hour long so far so fingers crossed she resets herself today and naps well. Please oh please oh please.

Our mini vacation to the beach was awesome. Baby was sick and didn't sleep one night (and coslept the rest of the time) but overall it was great. I even napped on Saturday while my husband was watching the toddler.

I accidentally poured a generous amount of heavy cream instead of half and half in my coffee. Damn it!
When does the risk go away with having blankets or stuffed animals in the crib go away? Mil asked DH why we don't have any in her crib, and I know the one at her house has them and possibly bumpers in it. Trying to gauge whether this is a hill to die on with her being 7 mo

I have to get through three days of work then we are headed to Memphis and on to Birmingham for a friend's wedding. My mom is going with us and the Granny/Nanny because the kids were not included on the invite and vacation is always more fun with an extra set of hands for the kiddos. And my coworkers 50th birthday is Wednesday and I ordered fancy cupcakes so I'm looking forward to that as well (just not all the other stuff that I need to get done before then!).
ldubhawksfan, I have a lovey in the crib with her, and a giraffe that plays music and lights up if you press its belly. I keep the giraffe in the corner but if she wakes up and wants entertainment, she crawls to it. The lovey smells like me (I regularly rub it on my chest) and she holds it when she sleeps sometimes. It's breathable. They make lots that are.
As for the bumpers, I don't have any. I got a mesh bumper but I must have a weird crib because I could never get it to work, but as far as I know she's never put her leg through the slats again. Quick learner.

I let Henry nap with a blanket since he is in a onesie and that seems like it would be cold but here is the 'official' guidelines from NIH:
The majority (90%) of SIDS deaths occur before a baby reaches 6 months of age, and the number of SIDS deaths peaks between 1 month and 4 months of age. However SIDS deaths can occur anytime during a baby's first year, so parents should still follow safe sleep recommendations to reduce the risk of SIDS until their baby's first birthday.

I'm ok with a small lovely and breathable bumpers. It's easy to remove and put back so unless your mil is being difficult it should be an issue. Assuming a non difficult mil. Hah.
We have mesh bumpers, which she uses as a toy and a muslin lovey. Sometimes I'll clip one of the dangly type toys to the side of her crib if she doesn't seem tired when I put her back down after a feeding.

E sleeps with a dolly at my mom's. But she only naps there, not at home, and mom checks on her a lot since she only has the audio monitor. I think you can start to introduce that stuff around age 1 or when you feel comfortable. She's had one of those A&A small blankets in there for ages.

things in cribs always made me paranoid so I don't think we gave our daughter anything until she was well over a year old, and probably won't for K either. I do think once they're able to roll and lift their heads up it isn't AS big of a deal (kinda like sleeping on their tummies right?), it's more of a "one less thing" for me to have to worry about haha.

Today is my first day back in the office since last Monday thanks to K. His fever FINALLY broke on Thurs but he has to be fever free for 24 hours before going back to daycare. We're pretty sure he came down with roseola, a nasty looking rash showed up on Sat and that coupled with the fever are the two symptoms of roseola. Only reason I'm even questioning that's what it was is because it's been crazy hot here so maybe just maybe it was heat rash....

I feel like a real adult because I just went and established myself with a PCP. I don't know the last time I had one. Also, my pump is making noise. Wtf. I'm pumping right now and it's hard to hear over the pump noise but its a sputtering/grumbling sound....

Spoke to soon about C . . . daycare has called. They're worried about pink eye. I dont actually think he has pink eye. It is not red and he is not rubbing his eyes like kids with pink eye do. But he is sick either way, so MH is going to get him and take him to the dr's this afternoon.
