Holy crap guys I'm exhausted. I have to drive alone to see family today and baby was up until 9:30, both girls ended up in my bed at different points. DD1 thought she should wake me up at 4:10 for the day. I convinced her to go back to bed after "breakfast". Now I'm laying here nursing the baby, totally awake like wtf.

Sorry for the rough night littleredfish. Have a safe & fun trip!
We have little gym this morning with DD1 and then after naps this morning we are going to go swimming at my parents. I also need to clean my house and continue packing for our trip this week. Now with two little ones, I'm nervous I'll forget a bunch of stuff.

Yesterday was my birthday so we went out for dinner. I had one margarita, ONE and not even a big one and today I feel so meh. Sure that was probably my third or fourth drink since my first preg in July of 2013, lol. But still, it was just one ?

Is it bad that this has now become my favorite part about family get togethers?

Not bad at all - it's my favorite part too. Except, as much as I enjoy having someone else hold the baby for a while, my lizard brain gets very possessive of her as soon as I hand her off.

Mineminemineminemine!
I'm usually fine unless she starts crying and people are like "oh she's fine, I can handle it" when I know she's hungry or just wants me. It's annoying. Like ok sure I'll just go relax with my mom alarm sounding off inside my head.
Otherwise they are free to take the monkeys off my hands.

Why can't I be this way. I need to learn to let go of my control and let someone else take the reigns for a few minutes.
I guess I mostly think of my MIL. I cringe when she is around my kids.

Party animal raves on. DD didn't go down until 9 last night and woke at 5:15. I stuck to feeding in her nursery because cosleeping has actually caused me so many nightmares about rolling on her the last few months that m sleep has gone to shit. So I fed her in the rocker and her eyes were closed until I went to put her in the crib. Awake. I guess I might as well have some coffee since I won't be trying for more sleep for 2+ hrs (unless her naps are f'd up too).

Took the dog and baby for a walk around the neighborhood. It was early, 7:30, but not that early. She was great but at one point key out a quick squawk. Some grumpy old man yelled from his house to keep quiet. I couldn't see what house and she didn't make another peep, but I'm still fuming 30 mins later.

Yeah. Wtf? I might understand if she was actually crying and melting down, at which point I would have been hustling home, but she only made one short noise. Hell, dogs walking usually make more noise if they bark at something. Stupid grump!

@idubshawksfan my LO was having similar/major sleep issues that are finally just turning around for us. At one point I had to battle her to sleep after 6 hours because she just was not getting tired :/ and I am usually super strict about age appropriate wake times... The turning point was either getting my period (I've heard moms hormone spikes can mess with BF babies) or learning to crawl. These happened on the same day, so I can't be sure, but I think it was the crawling. She was working so, so hard at it and now that she figured it out is so, so much happier.

DH was being crabby after bitching about his employee for an hr all things that he has complained about before but I told him that he needs to say that the the guy cannot do a certain thing, period because DH is the boss and needs to act like it. So I left him with the baby and ran to the farmers market. I'm making a Starbucks run before the grocery store because tired, and I need a treat!

Made it to my dad's house and DD1 I'd already in the pond hunting frogs and tadpoles. Further solidifying for me that we need a house in the country. I miss it so much. I realize even my mood is different out here.

Hosted yearbook kids for a meeting. Didn't get a whole lot done but it was good to touch base. I think they at least will start thinking about stuff for our workshop next month. Now I have a bunch of leftover brownies.

Btdt question. Is an umbrella stroller needed or a good thing to have? We got one that we registered for because of course BBB recommended it. I haven't opened it We have a city mini that we use all the time. I can't see a time when we would use the umbrella. I'm wondering if I should try to return it off our registry (hopefully I still can), and use the credit for a convertible for DH's vehicle. I don't want look back and regret that if it's useful though.

I think it's useful for quick trips. More so when they get bigger when you don't need a huge diaper bag. They are lightweight and compact. I usually take one when I'm going on a trip.

This. Ours lives in the van. It's come in handy as a back up when we've been out longer than we planned or it's really hot and she's getting irritable in the carrier but I didn't pack an actual stroller. I think of it like those cheap mini umbrellas. Handy to stash somewhere for a quick grab in a pinch but obviously don't have full coverage for serious need.

We have one, but have barely used it. If you're happy with your current stroller, you'll probably continue to be. I see a lot of preschoolers or older in umbrellas but it sort of seems to me, they should just be walking by that age. But we're not really stroller people in general... So yeah if I had it to do again, I wouldn't buy one.

ldubhawksfan, IMO, yes. We got a real cheapy one for like $20 and have used it for traveling. It's much easier than hauling my nice UB Cruz. Plus I'm not worried about it being mishandled by airport personnel (we gate check it).
Finally got a diaper sprayer so I plan to start solids sometime. It also has a spray shield, which I got from diaper dawg. I'm so excited. The dread of dealing with nonploppable poop had me wanting to throw in the towel with cloth.
