Anyone move their mattress yet? DD can pull herself up to standing from a seated position but hasn't sit up from a laying down position. We just moved the mattress down tonight and at the recommendation of a couple people we moved it all the way down. It was a big pain in the ass to move so I'm glad I took their recommendation and moved it all the way because I do not want to have to do that again.
Anyway the question is, have you noticed any change it their ability to put themselves to sleep since you made the move? DD always goes right down to sleep with no problem and tonight after moving the mattress she has been fussing on and off for about a half hour? Maybe she's just having an off night but he crazy part of me thinks I'm going to have to sleep train all over to get her use to the new level? Am I crazy?

We moved DS's mattress down yesterday. It was fairly easy on our crib, so we did not move it all the way down. I also put the bumper pads on for the first time, as LO rolled into the bars of the crib last week hard enough to give himself two little bruises on his forehead. :-(
He seemed a little more upset than usual when he woke up in the middle of the night last night, but I thought it was the unfamiliar bumpers not the mattress height.
Then again, he's a baby and I really have no clue why he does what he does half the time.
I recall a couple week transition period with both of my sons when we moved the mattress. You wouldn't think they'd notice but they do... Hang in there!

We've actually had those big fluffy crib bumpers since she was 4m and she loves them. I think it makes her feel cozy in there or something. Either way I'm being tortured right now.
We moved it down today. Went ahead and went all the way down. It wasn't difficult, I just don't want to deal with it again. Didn't have any trouble with DD going to sleep, but we'll see how the night goes. It's still early.
An update on our first night. DD woke at 4 crying and standing in her crib. I gave her her paci, laid her back down, and patted her butt for a minute and she went back to sleep until wake up time at 6:15.
anotherdreamer I wouldn't have been able to have it all the way down before because the top conveniently hits my incision area and it was uncomfortable to lean over the edge to put her down/get her up. I would have loved to skip this step!

That's one of the reasons they were in our room at first, so I totally understand that
