DS1 was a fat baby and is now a skinny toddler but jamming him in pjs was the worst. DS2 is equally chubby and same problem. I switched over to 2 pieces around his 1st bday because it gets so f'ing humid here he just slept in a diaper his first summer. DS2 is following in his footsteps and is currently passed out in just a diaper and big ole belly hanging out.
Two piece pjs tend to run tighter for the flame resistant/fire retardant aspect of her material. The tags on Carter pjs will say they need to be snug because lose ones are worse in fires.

^wss. I was putting onesies on in the spring underneath. Now it rarely gets below 75 in her room with the fan on high so we're in short/t-shirt PJ sets.

We do separates mostly (2t). I personally go out of my way to not by the flame retardant pjs so they tend to be even snugger fitting than ones that are. To be really honest though it's hard. So cheeks sleeps mainly in rompers or a t shirt and diaper. I'll obviously have to revisit this when the temp changes, but for now it seems to be working well for us

I have a skinny baby but I'm just jumping into to say that I love putting the 2 piece jammies on her. Because they're snug, they seem too tight on her arms, making her arms look big and chubby. I seriously Crack up every time. #momhumor

C started out big but he has pretty much levelled out now. He is long and lean. But anyhow, I just have him sleep in a onesie and thats it. I find the Carters ones to be best bc they tend to run a little longer and he is tall. Our house is usually around 75, so its comfortable.

DD is snug in all of the 9 mo jammies, so I'm guessing we will transition to the 12 month soon (they have gripped feet which I can't believe we are too that point already!!). Where are you all finding separates? I don't have any of those

ldubhawksfan, she still needs a sleepsack. We just got her out of the swaddle wrapsack (just tight around the middle).
My DD was so anti swaddle and has been a freebird at night since nearly coming home from the hospital. I was trying to use an A&A sleep sack when she is naked or just in a onsie because I worry about her getting chilled at some point, but last night that would have been too much. Luckily she didn't mind!

Carter's! My mom just picked some up on clearance from Disney, too. Gymboree/crazy 8 (my JAM) also has cute ones!

We are in separates because, like you said, too chunky. I actually really like separates.
The separate tops don't just ride up and bug her?
I was worried about this, and they don't ride up.
That said, with his helmet, DS is a complete hotbox so we only do short sleeve/shorts 2pc jammies or just a short sleeve onesie, with a muslin sleep sack.
Also, my kids have giant feet so we had to ditch the one piece footies ages ago- I miss them.
