Welcome! This is a weekly check in for those of us who are pregnant after loss and/or infertility. This check in is a safe place to share all things that come with being PgAL and/or PAIF, and to give support to others.
Hello nausea! And headaches! Was hoping that this time round id get to skip this part but apparently not.
I didn't post yesterday since my miscarriage was a 5w6d so was nervous to see a repeat. Feeling better today since I'm past the "hump". Still checking my %od miscarriage every few days though....

Just joining this week... - history: 1 mc in 2012 at around 10/11 weeks... Followed by a successful pregnancy to my son born March 2014 - Due date is 2/16/17
- today I'm 5w6d - I hit a rough patch. Was going really well, especially with Hcg counts. Went from 16 to 47 (48 hrs) ... Then 47 to 628 (1 week, excellent doubling).
But yesterday I found out the following week I went from 628 to 2441 over 7 days which is slower than they want (doubling rate every 85hrs I think). So naturally I'm worried. Trying to stay positive and really embrace the above mantra. Hard but trying.
- just did more blood work today so hopefully I find out this evening.

@jacks605 - Congrats on passing your previous mc dating. I know that "over the hump" feeling
Somers Isles - FX your numbers continue to climb. Is your doctor calling you later today or tomorrow? Keep us posted.
How far along are you? 5w5d
How are you doing physically? Emotionally? Physically - nauseous as hell. I horked while brushing my teeth this morning. My sense of smell is also off the charts. Horked again when I came downstairs and smelled the trash. It wasn't even stinky, but I'd tossed some leftovers *shudder*. Emotionally - numb to be honest. I'm excited, but still on edge. My first tri losses were later, so I won't feel settled until about 12w probably.
Any appointments or milestones this week? Nope.
QOTW: Does anything with cheese count? My food aversions are pretty strong, so carbs are super appealing to settle my stomach. I've been reaching for bananas and yogurt in an attempt to stay away from "white" foods (pasta, chips, bread, etc.). #willnotgain45lbsthistime

How are you doing physically? Emotionally? Physically, ok. Tired, some nausea, bleeding last night but it's stopped. Emotionally, still detached but also feeling mega guilty that I'm so tired that I'm no fun for my son anymore.
Any appointments or milestones this week? Today was the ultrasound- showed gestational sac and yolk sac. Follow up next Thursday.
QOTW: Any cravings this pregnancy? Share a favorite snack that you're enjoying lately. No true cravings yet but really all I feel like eating is Panda Express.

Somers Isles I'm sorry those numbers were lower than they wanted. FX for great numbers today. Keep us updated. Hopefully baby is just taking its time getting settled.
oldbaylover1024 ugh leftovers make me nauseous too. I can't open the fridge without holding my breath.
notagoddess, Thanks for running the check-in! @winegirl9, Hugs on the loss milestone. Those days can be tough. Somers Isles, Big hugs and fingers crossed for good numbers! oldbaylover1024, Boo, nausea. It sucks, but feels weirdly good, too, right? Hurray for pregnancy symptoms?
Hello, all!
How far along: 6 weeks today
How are you doing physically? Emotionally? Well, physically I feel alright. I have some symptoms (sore breasts, periodic nausea, food aversions, muscle twinges) which right now are all reassuring me. Emotionally, I'm on the fence. I've passed two loss milestones, but the third is lingering out there a ways and keeps me terrified that everything I think is going well actually isn't.
Any appointments? Milestones?: No appointments. Last pregnancy stopped growing at 6w6d, so I'm probably going to be an extra wound-up nervous wreck. F*ck pgal brain.
QOTW: Not really. Too many things sound gross right now. Except salty things, and sour and spicy things. Weird. I need to go grocery shopping today, and I'm just hoping not to gag while walking the aisles. Are there healthy salty things to eat? Any recommendations?

notagoddess , thanks for running this post. meladorie, kung poa chicken sounds amazing right now.
Somers Isles , FX for a good result later today! Betas are so crazy making.
How far along? 5w3D
How are you doing? Physically I am really tired. I'm feeling some guilt because I keep forgetting I am pregnant, which is the opposite of my previous pregnancies. When I remember I am constantly worried about the next appointment.
QOTW: Any cravings this pregnancy? No real cravings or aversions so far, but I am loving english muffins with butter and the thinnest layer of jam. YUM.
Somers Isles - FX your numbers continue to climb. Is your doctor calling you later today or tomorrow? Keep us posted.
I went in at 6:45am before heading into work and plan to call them... soonish. I want to call now but I don't want to look like a psycho. 2 weeks ago I went in that early and I got the results when I called at 4.

~~~If You’re Just Joining in This Week~~~
What is your loss and/or IF history? I had a missed miscarriage in February 2012 at 10 weeks and my rainbow baby in September 2014. I hope you don't mind if I join in. The bad feelings are creeping back.
What is your EDD? I'm thinking first week of February but not sure. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
How far along are you? I should be around 7.5 weeks.
How are you doing physically? I'm doing okay physically just exhausted. Emotionally? After an ultrasound yesterday I'm not feeling so good about it.
Any appointments or milestones this week? I work for a midwife and after I went with her to a home visit site offered to take a look for me. She just got this ultrasound machine so she's not very proficient at it, but we think we saw something. She said it didn't look like I was as far along as I thought. She sent a referral to an imaging center so I'm waiting on them to call me to make an appointment.
QOTW: Any cravings this pregnancy? Share a favorite snack that you're enjoying lately. Tacos for sure. I've been eating a lot of cottage cheese lately.
How are you doing physically? Emotionally? Every day gets better. Nausea is starting to ease up which is equal parts relief and terror.
Any appointments or milestones this week? Had my first appt with my GP yesterday. Got my package of ultrasound/bloodwork requisitions for the entire pregnancy. It makes me feel a bit more in control but also will make it harder if this goes south and I have this package in my house.
QOTW: Any cravings this pregnancy? Share a favorite snack that you're enjoying lately. I'm all about the sour gummies right now - Sour Patch Kids, Cherry Blasters, Fuzzy Peaches, you name it!
How are you doing physically? Emotionally? Physically - I think I'm coming down with a cold. Which sneezing with tender boobs is great fun. Since I wasn't suppose to TTC until August (whoops) I have to be extra mindful of dehydration in the first trimester. If I start displaying any signs, it's straight to hospital for a drip.
Emotionally - Up and down. I go from super excited to super worried in a span of about 2 minutes. It's exhausting.
Any appointments or milestones this week? I have an appointment on the 30th with my super awesome GP. He has been such a major support with all my health issues, loss, surgery. Everything.
QOTW: Any cravings this pregnancy? Share a favorite snack that you're enjoying lately. Chobani Greek Yogurt Dip (Chilli Lime Ranch) on cruskits. If I'm feeling fancy I'll add sliced BBQ chicken breast on top. (I may have eaten this for breakfast, lunch and dinner yesterday.)
So tired. I had bad nightmares about the baby not being ok last night. Most of it I don't remember now but I hope I sleep better tonight. I'm also a little lonely being away from H right now and can't wait to have him to cuddle again on the 1st. I know I'm being needy, but I can't help it.
No appointments yet.
QOTW: All I want is pizza! I've been eating hummus and carrots to help keep me fuller longer.
@jacks605 , big hugs. We all have days where we will need to just step away for a minute. Somers Isles , fx for good results. Thinking about you! oldbaylover1024 , sorry about the smells - with my last pregnancy, peanut butter set me off like wildfire. meladorie , now I want chinese food. OMG Crab Rangoon sounds amazeballs. ls2012 , big hugs to you, big fuck yous to PGAL brain. I can't help with snacks, but I'm with you on the spicy and salty. EmMilAlly , hope you're able to get past the guilt, it's ok. linewifekat , welcome, hope your next scan is a positive one. madam23 , Yum Sour Patch kids, I think I'm adding that to my grocery list. It's always a double edge sword with all the paperwork. I'm the same. I feel like I'm handling the time between appointments well on minute, then obsessing over it the next. ImAPepper, sorry for the shitty nightmares, pregnancy dreams can be a major mindfuck
Loss history: blighted ovum September 2014 followed by a healthy pregnancy with my daughter born September 2015.
Due date: 2/23/17
Today I am 5 weeks :-)
This pregnancy was a complete shock but now that it's here's I'm terrified something will go wrong. I thought after my successful pregnancy that I wouldn't have to to worry about PGAL brain, boy am I wrong. I'm scared something is going to go wrong once again.
Appointments: none this week
QOTW: I had an insane craving for shrimp and broccoli the night before I tested.
Originally not until 6/30 BUT yesterday and today I started spotting. It was only a tiny bit in the morning yesterday so I brushed it off. Well I had a bit of cramping last night and then had more spotting this morning! Coupled with more cramping that included sharper pains. I called the nurse and they let me come into check. They did an ultrasound but it wasn't reassuring. They was a gestational sack but no hb visible but it could be too early. They will do betas today and Monday to see what's happening. As of right now the cramping has stopped but I'm tending toward pessimism because of the uncertainty. Oh to be ignorant again.
Ignorance is bliss. I'm sorry to hear about the spotting, loubug. FX your betas offer some reassurance all is well. Keep us posted. {{hugs}} while you wait.
loubug, Hugs lady! I hope the spotting stops and you get great news next week.
FWIW, during my pregnancy with my son I had heavy bleeding and had an US at exactly 5w5d. We couldn't see a HB at all, but the next week, there it was! Unfortunately I spotted for over 12 weeks, but he was fine.
The numbers were so-so ... 6/13 = 628 6/20 = 2441 6/22 = 3957
So after a week the rise was only 47%, then when I did more bloodworm after 48 hours it went up to a 62% increase. Still far from the 100% (aka, the doubling every 48 hours) rate they're hoping for. I'm waiting a week to get more bloodwork done (Wednesday) and I have an ultrasound scheduled for Friday.
Thanks everyone for the well wishes Doing my best to stay positive. Today I am pregnant and I love my baby.
Nothing specific, I'm just always hungry.
At 5.5 it's totally normal to not see a heartbeat, though I understand that it's hard to be hopeful until you see one. Hopefully next week is more reassuring!
Thank you. I knew it somewhere in my head but it's so nice to hear someone else say so it doesn't just sound like wishful thinking.
