I've been so busy and it's catching up with me. Yesterday I had to travel for what ended up being a 4-hour interview, followed by class and a social event I didn't want to back out of. I took the day off today since my brother is visiting from out of town. We're supposed to do fun stuff but I'm really dragging. I wish I could spend a long day on the couch.

I also didn't anticipate Brexit passing. I agree it had to do with immigration, but I also think countries have a right to control immigration as they see fit.
The Brexit thing is certainly stirring a lot up. I'm on the fence about it. I think it definitely has a lot to do with immigration. However, I think that each nation should be able to control immigration in their own way, and if they didn't agree with the way the EU was handling it, they have a right to withdraw. I know it's more complicated than that, but on that front, those are my feelings.

As for me, DD has been feeling bad last night/today. No fever, but she is so congested and threw up last night. She's coughing a lot and not sleeping well. She was up at 10, 2, and 5 last night. I tried taking a nap during her morning nap, but she didn't sleep long enough!
Or they could have used their considerable power to try to change how the EU works instead of just throwing in the towel. From what I've read, the EU is run in a very complicated way that most Europeans don't understand? And little attention is paid to what happens by the EU governing bodies? Feel free to correct if I'm wrong.

Another +1 for maternity wear. It's just so comfy. My mat shorts and maxi dresses will get me through this summer. My last pregnancy I was way bloated until 14 weeks and looked super pregnant then it went away and I looked normal until 18 weeks then BAM! Belly popped.

Yes, they could have made that decision as well. Based on how close the vote was, I'm sure there was significant debate on how to handle the situation. Being from Tx, I'm not fully versed by any means with how the EU works.

I plan to live in maxi skirts and dresses this summer. The bloat isn't too bad yet - I'm still wearing regular jeans. But ain't no way I'm wearing them all summer.
P.S. If you don't own a pair of slip shorts, do that. Buy them now. We just talked about them not too long ago on Working Parents and apparently women don't know they exist. THIGH SAVER.
ETA: Anyone else experience extra sweat already? Just me? Okaaayyy... [applies extra deodorant and buys baby powder]

Oh, wow, goes to show how much I know. I thought it was just the Parliament that did the voting, not the people. This is concerning that there could have been so many people voting without an understanding of what they were voting for.

+1 for comfort clothes but also trying to not look pregnant which is a constant reminder to suck it in...not sure how to hide this pregnancy for 5ish more weeks...go away bloating you're dumb
+1 to not knowing what Brexit was and having to research it.
Family is coming today and besides my mother we have no idea what time my inlaws will be here. We're making progress that we at least know what day they'll be here and now I'm trying to get them to actually give us a time frame. I feel like it's considerate to give a time so that we can plan accordingly but they just don't get it. We've told them we need to know so that we have enough food for all the meals but they just don't seem to care. Drives me crazy.

Let this be a cautionary tale for the US in November.

Are the slip shorts to deal with a chaffing problem? I didn't know these were a thing either!

I bought maternity shorts today! All I had with DS was jeans (even though I was ku in the summer), and I know I'm going to be wanting a comfy waistband before the summer is out here.

This will be me come Monday. I'm away for the weekend and was too lazy to repack. Almost 8wks is a respectable time for maternity pants.
I'm annoyed. The in laws are spreading the news of our pregnancy like wild fire! For not being very excited, they sure aren't keeping their mouths shut. Oh well. Trying not to get too bent out of shape about it, but most f their friends and family know and we didn't get to tell them, including one of my best friends who I haven't told yet, since her parents are friends of the family. I haven't even had my first appointment yet! Don't mind me, stewing on the couch and trying to talk myself out of eating all the ice cream.

Ugh, that's really frustrating. Especially when some of those people you'd like to share the news with yourself.

ktl23, Not cool. Thankfully my in-laws (who were the first to find out) know how to keep news to themselves... *and* don't use social media for much of anything.
