I love my ring. We shopped together a few months before we got engaged, which I'm glad we did because I thought I wanted a halo setting. But once I tried them on I much preferred a solitaire.
It's just over a carat center stone. It's hard to see in the picture, but it has a "crown" setting of small pave set diamonds around the center stone. You can't see it from straight on, only from the sides.
Unfortunately I think it must have nickel in b/c after pregnancy it's been making me break out Currently I'm wear my mom's wedding band that I added E's birthstone to.

Gah, I cannot capture a picture that does it any justice! I'm not really a jewelry person and thought a big hunk of stone sticking out of my finger would be annoying / get stuck on stuff so we started looking for something different. We fell in love with Mokume-gane (Japanese wood grain looking metal forging technique). I got a single band with a channel of tiny diamonds. DHs band was forged from the same strand, so they are totally unique. They look sort of like this:

I never get to wear it anymore, because I broke my finger and it doesn't really fit. I would have to add gold to the band as it's as thin as it'll go already!
This is also not the original stone. It had a tsavorite in it to begin with (a lovely green garnet) but the prongs failed and the stone fell out while I was at the school. Guess what our colors are? Yup, green and white. Never found it, and the shop couldn't find a replacement stone in that size and cut anywhere (they aren't incredibly common). So this is a very economical Mozambique garnet.
The outer bands were designed, carved, and created by a student's dad. We didn't know that until after the fact, but it was a nice personal touch.
H and I had discussed what I liked but he picked it out himself. I love the look of emerald cut/baguettes. It isn't a set but we found a wedding band that had the same look with the baguettes. I love the filigree on it to give it a vintage sort of feel.
My fingers are a bit swollen today so ignore that it's on wrong

I can't pip. But my engagement ring is a square flush diamond with 3 diamonds on either side and my wedding band is tiny diamonds around my engagement ring. You can't wear the wedding band with the engagement ring, so they are soldered together.
My rings were H's grandmother's and H's band is his grandfather's. They were married for over 50 years. His band has their wedding date and initials inscribed and our wedding date and initials. I never really researched rings, but honestly, I couldn't have picked a better one.

I picked my set. DH wanted a much bigger ring but I wanted to be able to wear it all the time and my line of work involves a lot of latex gloves on and off all day long. I've fished it out of a dumpster before. Now it never leaves my hand. Pardon my giant scar. Maybe a bigger diamond would distract from that
Edit: I also had the rings soldered together because it made my OCD go nuts when the rotated independently and the little diamonds didn't match up.

Here are mine. I had shown DH a pick of the engagement ring not really expecting him to remember. I got one band as the wedding band and a year later he gave me the top band (why it's not sautered with the other 2)
Are you going to tell us what you did for work littleredfish? Now im curious.
Lol nothing scary. I was in charge of the veterinary dept at an animal shelter for 7 years. Lots of disease/illness/parasites/ blood/vomit/poop/.... ya lots of gloves.

I'm not posting any pictures because my hands are a disaster and my ring needs cleaning. I have a very simple silver band with a single dark blue sapphire. My wedding band was plain white gold, but it was a little big and before it could be resized it flew off my hand into the garden one evening several years ago and I haven't seen it since. I just wear my engagement ring in its place.
I love my ring for sentimental reasons, but I do admit to having a little ring envy looking at all the lovely pieces in the thread.
