I'm trying to figure out a morning routine for the girls and I...otherwise we don't get ourselves ready until lunchtime. DH is kind of slow in the morning, which makes it hard for us to keep to a routine. Some days he hasn't left the house until after 10. I think he thinks he's bent helpful;) if he takes the new job he will have to keep regular business hours, which I will like as I love my routine.
Still scorching hot here, would love to take walks with the girls, but it's too hot, and there's only room for two in the stroller and I'm not sure DD1 is quite good enough to ride her bike yet. I think it would be too hot to wear baby...
We had DD's first pedi appointment today and it went well. She has just one more ounce to gain before she's back to birth weight. She's at a pretty low percentile now because she was small when she was born, but her pedi is pretty sure she'll catch up soon.
I was honestly kinda nervous because I didn't want to be lectured by the pedi for not breast feeding her. He was really the opposite of judgmental and was so great about everything. We've only been going to this big group practice of pediatricians for a few months and I'm really impressed. I'm going to try to get DS to see this particular pedi for his next visit too. He talked to us for a while about balancing caring for a newborn and toddler and what things are vital for each of them and which are a little less important. I thought that was really nice.

Had my 6 week appointment yesterday. It was fine, made a follow up for an iud and an annual, but super sad news, they are closing the practice and my dr is going to go work with high risk pregnancies at the hospital. Good for her, but boo, I have to find a new gyno.
I'm at the doctor waiting for a NST and a check to see if I'm making any progress. TMI- I've had some more discharge so maybe things are starting to move.
It will be hot here today. I walked 2.5 miles today. I am trying to wean off the pump after every feeding low that lo is getting bigger and she is nursing better. I really need to hit the store but don't want to!
Sorry you can't have a great morning routine at the moment shoogars. What is it about men thinking that they are being helpful when they're not? I hope you can get into a better routine soon.
I'm glad your appointment went well woodengirl07. Sorry you have to get a new gyno though.
Fingers crossed for you Kevinmac. I hope the NST goes well.
babyzebra, that's great about your appointment, any good tips for that newborn toddler balance?
Kevinmac, good luck, hope things are moving along for you.
Well this 3.5 week old baby has definitely 'woken up' now. When she's awake she doesn't usually last more than 5-10 minutes being put down anywhere and does not like the swing or bouncy seat. She screams in the carseat but falls asleep as long as there is movement. She likes to be walked around and 'look' at things (and will call you out if you are just pretending to walk in place), so we do a lot of walking around the house right now. I'm having DS flashbacks but it will all be fine, reminding myself this period of time is short and will pass.
On the plus side, yesterday I had a mimosa at 10am and binge watched Mad Men with a sleeping baby on me all morning.

I'm at the pedi for our 2 week check up. I have lost count of the people who arrived after us but have been taken to a room already. Our appointment was 25 minutes ago. They're lucky LO is sleeping so soundly on me...

Thats obnoxious! Hopefully you will be called back quickly
Has anyone heard from virginiaorjohn? I randomly think about how she's doing.
You are so sweet to think of me! I am still pregnant, one day overdue now. Finally officially done with work so I'm hoping I have more time to check in here now! In the meantime I'm taking lots of walks and bouncing on an exercise ball while I watch the new OITNBs haha.

I told DH that LO had a poopxlosion this morning so he could change his diaper. A few minutes later LO sneezed and DS1 tells DH, "daddy he exploded again!"
We had his first pedi appt yesterday at 6 days and he's back to birth weight and healthy! We got the all clear to take him to restaurants, etc. and more importantly she said we can let him sleep at night now and feed on demand during the night!

Wooohooo!!! Almost to the finish line! Preach on the OITNB, I'm almost done. So much better than last season. They are really hitting me in the feels this round.

I tried to wait to watch until after the kid was here but then I caved because I have no willpower and spoilers everywhere!
So many babies here! I forgot I was at the end of the month, loving reading everyone's birth stories!
Currently DD is napping on me, DH is napping in our room, and my mom is napping in the guest room. I'm awake. This is amusing to me. I guess they are tired. I mean they just gave birth a few days ago...
Well not much progress- 1cm dilated and 60%effaced. We set an induction for 7/6 at 4pm. I'm hoping I still go on my own before, but the midwife today didn't sound very hopeful.

That's something at least. Will you do a cervical sweep to see if that moves things along? (I keep reading about them, no real life experience though. I would do it if I was dilated at all)
Don't let the midwife get to you--you could totally do it on your own and if not it will be fine to do the induction. You've got this!
I'm suppose to call for my induction on 7/6 at 6pm and probably go in at 8pm so I may be right behind you!

What kind of advice did he give about balancing a newborn and toddler?
At our newborn photoshoot. DS1 was not being cooperative but what's new. We got a couple good 2 year shots for him and just a handful family shots. I'm so excited about the newborn shots though. DS2 is looking so sweet in his outfits and poses and we caught a couple smiles.

DH made me sweet cry. He's been growing his beard for a while... Saying he wants it through race season this fall. But he just said that since having DS he realizes he misses feeling sweet soft baby cheeks against his face. He said "I miss that and he's our last baby, so....."

Took the older kids to the pedi this morning then to toys r us for a reward for surviving shots Marley has been snoozing all morning after having a very rough gassy day yesterday. She was so uncomfortable I felt awful! Downside of EBF is feeling so responsible for any tummy issues!

Omg yes. I wanted to cry yesterday because she just could not be put down all evening and screamed if she wasn't being held a certain way and I'm so sure it because of some dairy I drank.
