Elena has been exploding with different things. She has just started singing songs. She will hold an actual (mini) conversation with me. I know she understands everything I say. When she doesn't, she asks for the meaning and I can see her little wheels turning. It's awesome!
As far as academically (lol)..... She has known her alphabet and the sound for awhile now. She finally learned the ABC song, took forever! She has also learned some sight words.
She is getting pretty close to counting all the way to twenty. She messed up on a few. She knows lots of shapes, colors, etc.
She amazes me daily with her little skills. She loves to hop and sing. She practically sings all day long.
We have full conversations with DD1 and it is so much fun. I love hearing what she has to say. She knows a lot of songs and her ABCs. She counts to 20 and recognizes numbers up to 9. She also knows shapes and colors. She tells little jokes like saying a cow says oink and then laughs at herself. She's just such a fun, happy, amazing kid and I'm proud of her everyday. Dd2 is four months and is scooting all over the room already! And doing it with purpose, to reach a toy or something else she wants. She'll be full crawling before six months, at this rate. She's also such a happy girl and is always smiling. I could go on and on about my girls lol

DD1 amazes me daily. Yesterday we were driving and she goes mama sky blue, clouds white, trees green. She knows her colors, shapes, and can count to 12. I also love when I'm driving and coming up to a stop sign and she starts yelling stop sign in excitement. It's awesome seeing all of the little things that make her so happy.
Her favorite song to sing is twinkle twinkle little star and she loves having us sing to her. She closes her eyes, gets a little smirk, and sways her head back and forth. Even if it's just the ABCs haha She is just so full of personality
DS1 is awesome!! He holds conversations and counts to 12-14 in Portuguese and English. He knows several words in P as well and loves to name every kind of construction vehicle he sees. We have a view of a construction site and he loves to watch and name what they are using. He also loves animal sounds and has started readinf himself books!
Ds2 is a potted plant and nurses all the time. He doesn't sleep well at night but he smiles and coos!!!! He's adorable and very chill.

Awe your DD1 sounds adorable with her sense of humour. I'm impressed by such strong language skills for out M14 kiddos. I found once my second was mobile my job got easier bc the kids play together for entertainment. Sounds like your life's about to get easier

She sounds very interested in her surroundings. Lol to being excited for stop signs. Could her enthusiasm rub off on me!
babycaps I hope sleep takes a turn for the better for you soon. Awe I miss early smiles and coos. Do you find your DS1 mixes the languages. My DD does switches back and forth, and sometimes makes up a word that is a mix of the English and French words. It's pretty cute watching her mind figure it out.
DS is walking! He's letting go and taking steps. He's so into exploring everything. He's a great independent player - hed play with the toy kitchen forever if I let him.
DDs language is starting to take off. She putting together 2-3 word sentences. It's amazing watching her figure out two languages and when to use each.
@babylentilbean your daughters language ability is amazing for this age! Even older kids struggle with the alphabet. Great job on both your parts!
Honestly, it was just daily repetition. It helps that we have scheduled school time (for DS1). Otherwise, I doubt I would do it daily. We are currently working on sight words and I'm using the same method to teach those that I used for the alphabet. It's all done around play.
@babylentilbean sight words can be hard bc you're getting into some pretty abstract notions. I think it's mostly impressive how into language she seems to be. Such a sponge for information

DS is talking up a storm and can be understood almost 100% of the time by just about anyone. It's like his vocabulary exploded over the course of the week.
DD is sleeping longer stretches at night which is nice and she's finally growing into 0-3m clothes at 1.5 months old. Other than that she just fills her diaper, sleeps, and nurses.
DD is still not talking a ton but will talk in small sentences. All her amazingness has been put into growing and her Sass! She is 27 months and already pushing 39 inches, she has the potential to end up around 6'-6'4!!! Her sassy personality is all from her father. This morning when she got up she wanted to see daddy before she got dressed. She beat me to our bedroom and held her hand out to me and said STOP! no enter, then shut the door on me... On mothers day we had breakfast at a local restaurant. DD had to potty but I would not let her take her bacon with her. She looked DH and FIL in the eyes and said do not touch as serious as she can be and shook the bacon at them before putting it back on her plate. She may end up being a handful..
zandeela I smiled reading your about YD bc it reminds me of the stories my Mom used to tell me about when I was a kid. You may have your work cut out for you. She sounds adorably sassy nonetheless.

Like you guys said she would, E's vocabulary just exploded in the last couple weeks. She went from a huge single to two word vocab, to stringing together 2, 3, and 4 words. Her personality also seems to have really come out lately. She's always been funny and sweet, but it's like lately she just seems way more grown up than she did a few weeks ago.
I think her crib bars are coming down this week. As soon as I can get two of her dresser drawers baby locked (they have meds, sharp things in them) we'll turn her crib into a toddler bed. I'm both excited and scared at the same time. Fingers crossed she does great. I'm going to "observe" around what time she pees while she's sleeping, and start night training in a couple weeks.
Last night I decided she and I would go to the mall to shop and have dinner, and I needed a walk too so we walked to the mall. She loved the walk, she so patiently waited for me to try on a million clothes, and she was so good at dinner. I misjudged the time, so when we came out it was sprinkling and getting dusk out, and we still had a mile or so walk home, but she happily got wet as I power walked home. Sometimes she makes me want to tear my hair out, but she really is a very good child.
