Side eye away, I'm sure I'm not the only one who has done this.
You know why this really sucks? Because the teachers get sick too. Teachers like me who are tried of parents who DGAF about bringing their sick kids in.
Ok, trust that I would never bring my kid in with a contiguous disease, vomiting, etc. but a runny nose and not even a temp considered a real fever, apparently I'm a monster. And I'm just beyond surprised that no one else around here would admit to doing this too. You all must have ridiculous amounts of sick/vacation time.

But you know you're supposed to wait 24 hours. Whatever, believe me, you are not the only. I've had parents bring their kids with far worse things but still it just annoys me. I understand sick days, etc.

I'm aware of the 24 hr rule, but I'm just trying to figure out how everyone else is able to manage to take the time off to follow that rule. I get that you are on the front line of it, I'm sure it's annoying.

Here's my contribution: I have a good number of personal/ sick days but DH has a very flexible work schedule. He goes in early (4 am) and, if necessary, is able to make it home before I leave for work at 7:30. It's not something he can do regularly but if DS is sick and I can't take off, it's relatively easy for DH to step in and take off. That being said, I have never been in a position to send DS to daycare sick because I am lucky enough to have DH's flexibility with work as an option.

We've also done this so you're not alone. I get both sides of the argument though.
On the sick kid topic, for 7 years I worked for a portrait company that did preschool portraits nationwide. It was awesome and I traveled coast to coast for a long time. You know what sucked? The parents who brought their kids in "just for pictures." You know who got those germs? The person that had to comb and fix their hair and outfits, poses, wipe the boogers off, etc. I literally got taken out by a gorgeous 3 year old girl with long blonde ringlets one year because her mom brought her in with the flu "just for pictures." I ended up missing the last 2 weeks of a very short season and missed out on about $2000 because of it. Please don't ever be those moms.

You're definitely not a monster. I totally get trying not to miss work. I get 10 sick days and with 2 kids those get used up waaaayyyy before the end of the school year. Then it comes out of my pay. I guess what bothered me most in your OP was the, "I don't care", like it was something you were proud of.
My favorite is when the parents are like "he was up all night throwing up but hasn't in two hours so he's good!"
I had a mom bring her daughter to school with a 103 temp. She had given her Tylenol that morning and thought she was fine. Nope. 1 week later and me and 9 other students were out with flu. And, the poor girl was miserable.

Definitely not proud. It's not like I want to get other kids sick, but I know my kid was fine so today I didn't really care. FFS I would never bring my kid to school with a high fever, flu, vomiting I'm not that mom. Fwiw I stayed home with her the day before when she had a 100.4 fever which had gone down throughout the day. My confession was that I guess I should have felt guilty for not following the 24 hr rule, but I didn't bc I didn't feel my kid was really that sick.
vlagroupie if my kid only had a temp that maxed out at 100.4 the day before and was fine otherwise, I probably would have made the same call.
ETA: that's like not even really a fever in my mind, but I don't know how old your LO is (mine is only 1, so it's like even borderline low grade)
Well technically it was 101 with rectal thermometer and less with the temporal. She is over 2 so I've been told the rectal temp is like a degree higher and the pedi uses the temporal.
