We had a nasty storm last week or so and I took my giant hanging baskets down so they wouldn't fall. I watered them, and put them in my garage overnight. When I woke up I hung them back where they usually go...well they died. I cannot get them to come back either. I'm so grumpy about it! They were so beautiful and now they're like crispy dried up yuck. I'm bummed.
But, a plant someone gave us when Kenley died has come back to life and is taking off so I'm happy about that.
OMG, I just want to say HOW MUCH I HATE THE SUMMER! I have shit growing all over the place and it's so outta control lol. I spend 2 and half hours hedging the bushes and within 3 days there are all kinds of sprouts sticking up already. STOP GROWING!
Oh, I do have these really pretty little tree things that have bloomed. Two are bright pink and two are purple. They are so pretty but I have no idea wtf they are.
I should think about getting a landscaper here to teach me some shit haha

rslh10, That meme is hilarious. I'm sorry your petunias dried up, it's so frustrating when that stuff happens. I hope they grow back for you.
nikolie93, Ugh, it is a constant battle to have things look neat. Could always try putting some weedlock fabric down then covering with soil or mulch, that should stop anything from coming back up. You should post pics of your trees - maybe one of us can figure out what they are!
Things are going well overall here with the garden. Veggies are doing good and pumpkin sprouts have already started to come up! I have a few perennials that are struggling, but all my annuals in pots are looking nice. I'll post pics next week.

All of my veggies are growing so well! And we finally got some rain this morning I have actual cucumbers, tomatoes, yellow beans, jalapeños and peas!!!
I'm still battling the weeds here! When we bought our house last summer, the previous owner hadn't done any landscaping for a couple of years, so it's been in rough shape. We moved in last summer and focused on the inside, so this summer I'm paying the price big time for yet another season of letting the yard go. I totally weeded years of growth from this flower bed (and took out a rose bush not in the "before pic" and cleaned out that entire back area. On the other side, I weeded another 1/3 of the back before being too tired to go one. I had no idea gardening was such an intense workout until this summer!
I did manage to weed and get my hydrangea in the ground last weekend!

nikolie93 I put newspaper down under the mulch. It really helps with the weeds. Also for non pup areas try sprinkling Preen. It's good at keeping weeds at bay!! Oh, and take a pict of your flowering things, we can figure it out!
birch113 yes it sure can be a hell of a workout!!!
AFM...I had 5 yards of mulch delivered last week while H was OOT... Wednesday: 11am -dark Thursday: 9am-dark Friday: 10:30am-4:30, 6-8pm (With about an hour break each day)
Well.
My whole body hurt! Hands, back...all of it!!
I'd fill up my cart; drive it up to where I was working; weed a section; and then spread it with a 3 gal bucket. One bucket at a time.
I'll take after Picts tomorrow but here are a couple in process Picts...
