My MOTY moment. I was watching Orange is The New Black while the kids were at the store with H. They came home while I was really into the story and I forgot to turn it off. I didn't realize they were watching until after a violent scene and Shane says "ouch!" Ugh I really try not to let them see that kind of stuff.
Does anyone still have a Bump user name? I randomy ended up there, instead of here a minute ago and noticed that doggie mama posted a reply to a random thread on there. Someone commented (sarahandeddie ) that we had all left, she asked where we went, but I don't know if anyone ever PM'd her.... it was last year - so probably a lost cause, but thought i'd put it out there.
I deleted mine but if no one here has one maybe in the Facebook group
She found us at one time - shortly after the move over here.
Wednesday Whine: I posted on FB too but the tornado sirens in our town malfunctioned last night and randomly started going off at 3:30am until 4:15. Plus the girls had been sleeping terrible and were up from 12:30-2ish, so I had just gotten back to sleep! Luckily the girls slept through the sirens. Ugh so tired!

My random thought for the day: I wonder how many times those judges on the cooking shows like Chopped get food poisoning. Some of those foods seem questionably cooked especially with the kids and the Worst Cooks in America. I wonder if they actually check the temp of the meat before serving.
Does anyone else even care about these things? Maybe I need to go back to work.
Ugh, I hate leaving H in charge of the kids when I have a meeting or something to go to. He promised them a movie and popcorn last night while I was gone. I get home and toys are randomly on the floor throughout our living room and Hanna's room. He's watching 2012, so clearly not a movie for them, and on his phone. And Eliza has on a pajama shirt and her clothes bottoms, because whatever he gave them she spilt all over so instead of just changing her completely let's just do it half assed. I'm probably neurotic about it, but toys go missing too. I'm still trying to find the little cookie that goes with our picnic toy from ages ago.
somethingcleverer, yes! Especially with the ones with kids. I always wonder how in the hell they know how to properly cook all of those dishes properly. I watched the one with Gordon Ramsey as the host (kids master-chef maybe?) and when some of them would be like "I've never cooked ::whatever:: before" it always freaked me out. I mean how to do you know what the internal temperature should be? Not a chance I would be willing to take that's for sure.
somethingcleverer, lol I love and watch all those cooking competition shows. That's a great question, if a 6 year old is cooking me meat, I'd be really nervous.
somethingcleverer, I was watching one the other day where the judges were served a chicken that clearly wasn't remotely done and thought "There's no way in hell I would eat that."
somethingcleverer, I have seen the judges refuse to taste it because it was undercooked! Chopped is one of the things I got hooked on while on maternity leave.

Shane had an announcement sent home from school for tryouts for a kids cooking competition in the Chicago area. I think it might have been for master chef, but on the paper it said something like "don't worry if your kid doesn't cook like they do on tv, no one starts like that" so I wonder how much coaching they get before and during the show.
mrsrek10 & jennmm I've seen them refuse to eat undercooked chicken too but it's got to be harder to tell with other meats.
I love you guys bc I know I'm not alone. My neighbors must think I'm the worst parent ever bc I lose my patience with Tommy quickly sometimes. This morning I was trying to make a pitcher of formula for Josie and counting and he wouldnt STFU. I yelled at him. I apologized, but I'm sure he doesn't give a shit. He has NO patience and he flips out if he has to wait. And the attitude- ugh.

Okay ladies, can I get your advice? Riley is wearing a navy lace dress for our family pictures. Pretty but very simple. The only thing I can find that I like is this one (sorry I can't attach the image for some reason)
Is this too fancy for park pictures? And if not, would you go yellow or pink? I still haven't picked out my H's polo but can coordinate once I know what I'm wearing.

Thanks for putting up with me ladies! I got the yellow since it was the only one in my size. Hopefully it looks okay on me. Now we just need to find my H a polo and we're set. Sigh. I think next year we'll just wear robes or something.
So I'm going to apply for a job! I've been working PT from home in the evenings since D's been born. While it's been ideally flexible, I've come to the realization that I'm just itching for something new and challenging. I'm completely scared and excited at the thought of this possibility, but figured I might as well apply. And if nothing else, I've (finally) updated my CV for when the next opportunity comes ul.
summergirl1211 - I think that dress is really cute and definitely not too fancy.
somethingcleverer - I have seen them turn down eating certain food because they are undercooked. Usually its chicken because that has to be cooked thoroughly. Most of the other meats can be served more undercooked, so I've seen them eat only the more cooked parts.
Thanks ladies for making me feel like Kayleigh isn't a complete psychopath. It makes me feel like a horrible mom since she spends so much time in time-out now. I hate the constant battles. It's exhausting.

I know you already bought it but I love it and I think the yellow will look great on you!
I really hate the pre teen age!!! V and I got into it a little bit last night. She made the comment how I always do things or say things just to make her feel bad. Um no! I may be a little harder on her compared to Hanna and Eliza, but she's 12. Some things she should know better then them and she should be more mature about and not do. Prime example: In the tub, Eliza was splashing and got V wet. So instead of talking to Eliza and explaining please don't splash she immediately splashes her back and then starts a splash war. Then when I yell at her for splashing, it's me being mean at V. NO, you're 12. You know better than to splash and you need to be the bigger person and walk away or not react with another wrong. Old fashion 2 wrongs don't make a right rule. So that prompted V to sit and count anything I did that she deemed me treating her bad. It was a great night. Especially since she counted simple things like me simply saying "no you can't have ice cream" as being mean.
Oh and I was already a little upset about our game night. We play Pie in the Face. I knew Hanna wouldn't play it very long once she got creamed and her turn was after me. So the first round she didn't get hit. The 2nd I got hit and I was cleaning up. I said to wait so I could video it and as I'm cleaning off my face V pushes Hanna to do it. Of course she gets hit and then the next turn she won't do it. So I have a video of everyone but Hanna. And I'm the bad guy because we don't need to picture or video everything.
Sorry for the vent. My nights/weekends are pretty exciting lately and this is my every day!
bliz1712, you cannot win with kids that age. I cope by simply not engaging. Really, what they want is an argument so I try not to give it to them. Honestly, had she been doing this counting with me, I'd have sent her to her room for the rest of the night. Teenagers are awful. Buy stock in a wine company and bottoms up. It sounds like you are handling it the best you can. Rant anytime!
jennmm, Thank you, yes that's a good point about not engaging. I need to remember to do that. Sometime it's just so hard not to when they are doing certain things.
bliz1712, I do not envy you these teeenage years, good luck girl!
So my hair is really starting to grow. I think I might take a picture every week and do one of those progression videos for fun. Plus then I can put it up for other people waiting to grow their hair so they can see what the process looks like.
