Anyone have bills coming in from the delivery yet? I just got my bill for just DD after the insurance paid their portion and I owe 2k...mostly billed for the nursery room even though she stayed with us. Ugh, healthcare. I hit my out of pocket which was 4k, so we will owe that, then more bills for DD are rolling in. I wish I could negotiate with my hospital but they said they "don't do that." When I had an appendectomy a year ago, I got 20% by paying in full-but it was at a different hospital.
Ugh, I hate dealing with insurance, sorry your hospital won't negotiate! I haven't gotten my bills in yet but I'm really curious to see what the total charge is for a vaginal delivery compared to my c section 18 months ago.
I haven't gotten the bill yet but I'll owe ~$2k for the delivery and my hospital stay based on the claim info on my insurance portal. They still haven't processed the claim for C's stay in the NICU though, so I'm nervous about how much of that will fall to us.

Yeah, I guess I haven't gotten the bills in the mail yet either! I just always see everything in advance on the insurance portal also! That way I'm not shocked when I get it in the mail.
I got the list of charges from the hospital for us both, but no bill yet. Last time, I think we paid around $1500 total. But my insurance has changed since then.

Ouch. Those OOP maxes will kill you. We got our bill - $23k total for me for a routine vaginal delivery, I owed slightly over $1k after insurance coverage. I didn't owe a dime for the baby. Between prenatal care and the hospital stay we met my OOP max of $1500, which is what I expected. It's expensive but I'm SO thankful for decent insurance!

We owe about $1,300 more before we hit our OOP max which was $3k. Fortunately, between our HSA and Cigna's "healthy baby program" most of it will be reimbursed by the end of the year.

I work a low-paying nonprofit job and pay pretty hefty insurance premiums, but my OOP max is only $250 and my employer reimburses $200.... It's one of the few perks of my job. Meanwhile - the hospital Still screwed up my bills and Im fighting with them straighten them out.
I haven't received my bill yet but you guys are scaring me. I only paid $400 for me and ds1 when I gave birth to him almost 3 years ago. I'm hoping it'll be around the same if not too much more.
Since I was high risk we met our OOP max early- thank goodness cause my and LO's stay came out at around 40k. Hooray for csection & specialty nursery care.
We owe about $900 for me & $700 for LO from the hospital after insurance. Got a $500 lab bill, $166 for circumcision. I figure that's the bulk of it. Probably will get a couple of stragglers in the next week or so.
Mine have been fairly ridiculous. Our oop max is fairly high. I paid up front for my delivery but just got another bill for 1600. I need to call this week and figure that all out.

Back in December my boss sold the pratice, so we went corporate and had to change insurance. The plan wasn't great. It's a high deductible plan which means I have to meet my 3000 deductible before the plans starts paying for anything. So I met that with a stint in triage, several u/s and a stint in ER. But still my OOP max is 6k (yeah sucks) So I might be responsible for 3k for delivery. The munchkin is on DH insurance cause deductible was just 1500 and it was a better plan overall. I really hate medical insurance in this country. DH is Irish and it really gets him worked up the amount of money we have to pay for health care. Before we moved to FL we were living in Scotland so I got to experience free health care for 5 yrs. It was wonderful!
