I'm a 4th grumpass, fireworks aren't really my thing and I don't enjoy being awake until almost midnight so that others could get their kicks.I'm sure tonight will be rough too, maybe I'll booze my way through this holiday.
Morning babys2015 the last 2 years the town fireworks where shot off right behind my house but they moved them this year. But the idiots have been shooting them off. Luckily they haven't kept e up we have been having enough to trouble getting her down.
babys2015 I agree about the fireworks. Pass. Yay for R's good sleep!
So...I need some advice. For the last 4 nights, O has woken up around 3am crying. She hasn't done this since she was tiny! I know she isn't hungry. Diaper is wet but not gross. I change her and put her back. Cue crying, screaming, etc. We've started putting her in our bed and she goes right to sleep. We put her back in her bed after about 30 minutes and she sleeps until morning. WTF? I don't want her to get used to coming in our bed but I don't want to let her cry all night. WWM15 do?

Happy 4th! Woke up at 1:30 this morning to a neighbor blasting off fireworks. People around the neighborhood were setting them off intermittently until 3! Kids slept through everything thankfully. DD1 is over her fear of fireworks from last year.
Not much planned for today. DH and I "celebrated" our 7th anniversary by going to a friend's BBQ. We need to step it up next year and get a sitter so we can go out.
ajacot924 I wouldn't pick her up even to change her. She'll learn to self-soothe these middle of the night wake ups if you force her to. It's tough to hear your kid crying but give it at least 5 minutes before you go in.
Yeah ajacot924, give her 15 or so minutes to see if she can self soothe, if not, go in and offer a quick, quiet back pay for a few minutes and then repeat as necessary..
When my grandparents were around the 4th was a big deal. Parade, cookout, fireworks the all the cousins would run around outside until 1-2am. Now Noone does anything

It was still raining at the beach so we decided to come home. I just didn't want to stay cooped up at my parents house for another day. So we are home listening to the rain. Jo has an upset tummy so it's probably good we are home.
maddisonrose we didn't mind them being right there. We could watch from inside the house if needed and we didn't have to deal with traffic trying to get home afterwards. E fell asleep while watching them last year.

@megaugust10 When I was a kid the 4th was a big deal. As we all grew up it stopped being planned by family. I'm hoping next year we can do the parade and fireworks and everything where my parents live.
Hey guys! Ps fever finally broke, but hes still quite the moody booty today. Yesterday we did great with no dairy...except the quesadilla he had. Dont ask me, k? I just forgot we werent doing dairy anymore, haha. #momfail So i had to take his quesadilla away, let him cry for a minute then gave him a tiny corner piece of the quesadilla back making him think he won the fight for the almighty quesadilla. Then i scarfed down the rest and pretended like it never existed, it worked. All in all, he only had like 4 bites of quesadilla and I considered it a good first day
Anyways, MIL wants us to come over today but its raining, P is moody, I just dont feel like it. He only napped for 20 minutes so far so im hoping he gets a good nap soon.
@megaugust10 same here. It was a big family reunion growing up. No it's nothing. I'm hoping for a miracle that the rain stays away so I can bring the kids to the parade and hopefully let D see fireworks for the first time.
Happy 4th of July everyone! Today is actually our 8th anniversary. No gifts since we are going on our big trip, but H brought me beautiful flowers and a donut-- my kinda morning! Took the kids swimming and we will be going out for an early dinner later while my parents watch the kids. Nowhere fancy, but probably Mexican, so, definitely delicious.
babys2015- Sorry about the grumpass. Hopefully things won't be too crazy tonight. Definitely booze it up. Love the sleeping in baby! ajacot924- Everything everyone else said. Sorry you're dealing with that, though! bnizzlebizzle- Do not love the late night explosions. Yuck. malvo- Looks like you guys had a great time! flat0422- Your day sounds beyond amazing. I think I might kill for a 9:00 sleep in! @megaugust10- That just means you need to start doing the fun 4th celebrations now! That's sort of what we had to do a few years ago since nobody else in the family was doing much. graciest719- Boo to the rain and a sick baby!
graciest719 HAHAHAHA. What happened? Did he get pantsed? Please explain.
Whenever I wear pajama pants or sweats and have company over, i always worry that will be the day P accidentally flags me while tugging on my pant leg a little too hard.
Day 2 no dairy went alright. I tried to bake a pizza while P was down for a nap, but he woke up moments after the pizza finished cooking (spidey senses tingling, GIVE ME THE DAIRY AND NO ONE GETS HURT). Sneaky mom fail. He wouldnt stop crying for pizza so finally i gave him a cheeseless slice and all was good again. Tried transitioning him to coconut milk and he didnt totally hate it, but he wouldnt really drink it. So I mixed a little WCM with it, he didnt have much, maybe 3oz. Otherwise it was frozen BM and water. He is doing better, low grade fever now and his snot is clear again and going away. Finally seeing some improvement! Except the no nap thing. I am ready for BED!
We had gotten snapchat a while back, mostly to take the silly puppy or whatever pictures of the kids. But today I actually used it instead of my H and now I'm obsessed. Can I have every picture from now on be taken with an amazing filter, please? I could have done without the Budweiser ad or the scary one-- but seriously I need a beautification filter in real life. Also need that feature for whole body pics
