Good morning flat0422! I'm here. I need coffee! We had a great weekend but a long car ride yesterday. And a busy day at work today. Dropping the girls off at DC was hard. They didn't want to stay. I felt so bad. I guess that's what happens when they are home for 4 days! A was eating breakfast happily when I left.
Morning flat0422 if the sky looks good go for a walk.
I am at work boo. E was up at 140 brought her in my bed and once she was back out she went back to her room. It rained all afternoon evening at my house. People where still setting off fireworks. They didn't keep e up luckily but most of the weekend was just 1 morning nap so she was ready for bed. We are slowly weaning paci from her. She only had it for naps and bedtime. Didnt even take it when we went out. We made it 20 mins in the car this morning before she needed it.
Made it to work. Honestly, I would have taken the day off but I'm pretty sure my boss won't be in, so it'll be a breezy day and then maybe I'll skip early. We'll see.
Weekend was great! Wine tasting was fun, pinic Saturday night was fun. We tried to have a picnic at our house yesterday but only 2 people showed up - my sister and a friend of ours who is usually the one that sucks at visiting/keeping plans. Ha. Oh well! My sister doesn't make it up to our place often, so it was nice that she got to spend time with N. Pretty sure she BLEW A KISS to her when she left, so that was adorable. I love all the little things she's learning to do lately!
She is in a major daddy phase right now. Only he can hold her and do things for her. I'm lucky to get a kiss. It kind of hurts my feelings, which I know is stupid. Hopefully she'll come back to Team Mommy soon.
So. DH didn't put a clean diaper on Jo before he put her to bed. So when she woke up she was covered in pee from head to toe. Sheet and blanket soaked. Yucky. Lesson learned-put an overnight on before bed.
My manager is actually here today. She has only sat at her desk and sent an email saying she was here. That is the extent of communication from her so far today.
flat0422 the main issue I have with paci is the hour car drive morning and night. I am starting to see how long she can go without it during the ride. Short trips I don't take it.
Morning! I got the kids to daycare a bit early and had everything ready to go in and work in my classroom and apparently school is closed all week. Hmm, annoyed because I really needed to get going in there. I have started about 10 little projects randomly and nothing is really being accomplished. I will be back at work with kids on the 29th. So much to do. TOO SOON!!! Plus (This is a super First World Problem) the house cleaners are coming today and I like to be out of the house and out of their way. So now I can't just hang at home. Might be a shopping day :/
flat0422- I've said it before and I'll say it again. I'm so jealous of your good sleeping baby! Yes to the walk to Starbucks. bekbek- I hate tough daycare drop off mornings. I'm sure it's just because they got out of the routine. Tomorrow will be better! @megaugust10- We too need to start the process of weaning the pacifier for naps and night. She does fine without it during the day but searches for it sometimes at night. I know we can do it (we did it cold turkey with C) but it will still suck! ladymike- Hope the boss is a no-show today! And glad you got to spend time with your sister! ajacot924- V went through a Daddy phase and is back onto me. She seems to get super clingy to me when teeth come in, otherwise she's all about dad. I don't get offended but I do sometimes miss the snuggles! Don't worry-- she'll be back! graciest719- I'm impressed Jo didn't wake up once she had wet through. Poor baby! And that cleanup... Yuck.
No boss. It's cool. I lost my morning in the blind reveals thread on Parenting and now I need to know if Britney is a fake. I'll die. If you have no idea what I'm talking about, don't go over there or you'll lose your entire afternoon. Haha.
I think it's really awful outside - hot/humid - but, I'm going to attempt a short walk. And maybe leave a tiny bit early, just because I can. I'm bored and this place is depressing.
ajacot924 M was in a daddy phase, but but we seem to be back to 50/50. I totally get the hurt feelings, but O will be back! I personally think M gets tired of me because I'm with her the most. Dad can be a nice change of pace.
flat0422 Jealous of your paci weaning! SO is ready to go cold turkey. I love my sleep so much that I just can't let go. She only has it for nap and bedtime and occasionally goes to sleep at DC without it. Must. Do. It. GAH!
bekbek Sorry for the sad baby drop off! Hopefully tomorrow goes better. M was out of DC last week (we did vacation as I was in Miami), and she's out this week due to DC shutdown (they do it once a year). FX she doesn't lose her mind on Monday! She's usually good as long as she goes right into her highchair for breakfast.
Hai! I was without a working laptop all week, so I'm super backed up at work. Ugh. So much to do!
Not much to report. M is back to normal after battling another baby cold. If she'd stop licking random things (like tables at restaurants), maybe she wouldn't get sick so much.
Her preferred method to travel is still crawling. She'll only walk between people if coaxed to do so. Sigh... Why you no walk, baby?!
malvo, DC is closed for a whole week?!?! Wow. Hopefully M does fine next week. I tried the high chair drop but she wasn't having it. A is usually easy if she can eat right away. I handed her off to the teacher and walked out while she was screaming. I realized this morning that we have no food in my house. My poor H got peanut butter and jelly for lunch. I guess I'll leave work early and grocery shop before picking up the girls.
We're off to a shitty start for the week. My period ended 18 days ago and came back again yesterday. Wtf. Then both kids decided they needed to be up all night. C herself was up from 1-4 am. Of course I went to bed later than normal since we stayed up to watch the fireworks. I'm exhausted. And I'm thinking H is starting to resent me on us not moving right at this moment. (moving to someplace warmer) He's thinking with his heart and now his mind and I'm being more of the realist. As he puts it, I've crushed his dreams. I love the idea of moving somewhere warmer but there's a lot involved with that too. Ugh
Thanks for the support everyone! I know O will be on team mom again soon. I think that because her dad works so much during the week, she's just so happy when he's here.
It's so hot here that I just want to stay in and watch tv. I only have 2 more weeks till I go back to school. Ugh. This is when I hate teaching at a year round school!
bekbek Yep, they are closed for an entire week. Thank goodness for grandparents! I'm pretty sure the explanation is in my enrollment packet. I assume it's for staff to take vacations without losing out on money (they also have a small staff, so staff being out puts a strain on everybody) and/or to get necessary improvements done to the facility with no kids around. I panicked for a moment, but then her Nana stepped up to take her. Crisis averted!
My baby is broken. Calling all who've had experience with Milk protein allergies: could the fact that we've introduced dairy into f's diet be causing all of her woes? Guys- she is unbearably unhappy. Next time she poops I am taking it straight to the dr for a blood test. And starting her next meal she is dairy free again.
We just booked some excursions for our trip!! So fun! So far we've got a sailboat snorkel trip and a kayaking trip lined up. Lots of other stuff planned but those don't require much lead time. 9 more days! So slow here today (not that I'm helping much!) and so many friends missing here these days!
ajacot924 right about now I think I'd be ok with f being even a little attached to my h. This girl would stay in my pocket all day long if I'd let her! But I know it hurts a little. Know this though- a good daddy daughter relationship is needed to build up a strong girl who'll respect herself!! flat0422 going a couple days a week is probabLy going to be good for k. LesleyEO how long does your summer last? Seems like it just started and your already talking about going back!!
Clicked send too soon! bekbek I discovered my local Kroger has ClickList now and it saved my sanity this week! Ordered all my groceries online and selected to pick them up after work. I didn't even step foot out of the car. Woohoo!!! jcar moving your family out of state is a big deal. Maybe you being a realist will give him time to really think about it. BUT if you guys really want to do it, why don't you make a visible list of things that are important and places you're interested in moving to. Start researching, maybe go there for a long weekend and check the place out.
Busy and BORING weekend at the river. So.much.rain. I was glad to get back a little early yesterday. Nothing going on this week really, but I am thankful it's a short one.
So, after much screaming, I nursed f and she is falling asleep. Early. She is still in half her outfit from school, didn't get a bath or even a good wipe down because I didn't think she was done for the night.
And d is having a huge fit in the other room with h who is in a bad mood because his back hurts.
rvamama I'd definitely take her poop to get tested ASAP. My nephew had dairy issues and was MISERABLE. It was terrible. He cried all. the. time. They finally got him on special formula and he was like a brand new baby. He's the happiest little guy now! M has never been tested, but we give her Lactaid due to constipation issues on regular WCM. We might try WCM again. Will discuss at her 15-month appointment.
Sending beer!
LesleyEO She's getting there! Slowly. She does better when not at home. Playing the system and getting away with more when it comes to us? She acts like her legs are jello at home!
M has been such. a. grump. I finally caved and gave her a sippy of milk, threw on her pajamas, and put her to bed. The incessant whining was making me twitchy. Time to make dinner, at almost 8pm. One day we'll eat at actual dinner time! It'd help if SO didn't run a million errands after work tonight -__-
