flat0422 - The start of this thread made me laugh. Haha. I bring our video monitor with us on all trips, but we have closed wifi everywhere and don't go out of range. We'll be hanging on the deck or in the pool while N naps next week. And I can't watch PLL when it's on because it's night time and I'm home alone until morning. Haha. I'm a wuss!
ladymike - Sorry your BBQ was a semi bust, but sometimes less is more and sounds like you had an awesome weekend otherwise!
ajacot924 - N is all team mommy right now. I'm ready for a break from making meals and doing housework with a baby on my hip. And my wrists hurt. Haha. She'll come around, I promise.
LesleyEO - Kids all summer? Your vacation sounds awesome! DH can't swim and refuses to do water things
malvo - My child doesn't crawl. He doesn't walk. He runs. I try to keep up. Crawling was easier. I could contain him. Wanna switch for a little while? And yay for early bed. Sometimes you just need a break.
jcar - I'm in the stupid period boat with you and I'm on BCP. Sorry for the rough night and your H being a bit rough right now. Can you literally write out pros and cons? I feel like men need to see things visually, even if it is writing things down that have been said.
rvamama - Oh no Sending hugs and booze. I hope you can figure out what's going on.

So as per my usual, I'm MIA all day and finally get to check in late in the evening. I worked for our owner today. My regular PT was on vacation so it was me and the owner who is another PT, who hired me but I've never met. Yea, think that through for a minute. Regardless, he did the absolute minimum possible to get by with patients and I was running circles. I was annoyed, until he acknowledged it. He said he told another PT to come watch me because I know what I'm doing. He said I'm always one step ahead of everyone and keep everything going. I felt validated in my request for a raise and now I'll be bringing it up at year end or my annual review. I then ran a bazillion errands because I got out early and we leave for vacation on Saturday. I feel like I'm so behind and with my car issues and working three days, I'll be happy for Saturday to get here. Haha. We took N for a haircut tonight. He screamed bloody murder again, made angry noises that Id never heard, and screamed out in what sounded like heartbreak whenever hair would land on his arms. Haha. I was dying of laughter and apologize to all of the other patrons. But at least he's a pound lighter from all of the hair that got cut off.
flat0422 sounds like a lot of walking! Awesome. Gl with the eating healthy this week. It's been so hot here I'm having a hard time being motivated to work out on a regular basis. Ugh. But I need to because... Overweight.
LesleyEO that's awesome! Your trip will be so fun!
rvamama A was miserable when we had positive milk protein allergy tests! I would definitely take her poop on ASAP. Poor F and poor you! Lots of beer for you.
portuguesemama sounds like a busy day!!im sorry N had a rough time with the haircut.
Today is the first day I haven't hurt in 3 weeks, now I'm just tired. W and my hubby have been having a blast building and tearing down towers. I love watching them and seeing how similar they are with how their brains work. I hope everyone has been doing well. I do go back and read, I just haven't kept up very well! Oh and Wayne has started telling us NO!
We just got home from running an errand and I noticed what looked like a bad sunburn on her neck and shoulders. Surprising because daycare does sunscreen before outdoor play. Went to change her and noticed big red blotches and bumps on her belly and back. I think it's hives! What do we do? We have her in a cool bath currently. The Benadryl we have on hand says do not use under 2 yrs. Crap.
malvo I was hoping that f would have grown out of the sensitivity by now that she was diagnosed with as an infant. But now that I think about it...it took d until about age 2. Ugh. I feel so bad for her! LesleyEO oh no!! I'd suggest calling the pedi for the right Benedryl dosage for her age.
rvamamamalvoflat0422- Thank you! No shots or any new foods or anything today so it's super weird. The cool bath honestly seems to be helping a bit, the red spots are less red and the raised patches are flatter. I will def call the pedi if it doesn't keep looking better!
Also. A is in a throwing and hitting phase. Ugh. I think some of you have had that problem? How did you handle it?
I tell F "no" and remove her- if she is on my lap hitting me, I put her down. If she is doing it to d, I make her give love to him then tell him to get away.
F is in a major fit throwing stage. I'm sure it's learned from my four-nager. But she'll throw herself on the floor and scream!

I hated the fits when R went through that stage! I feel like A is right no the cusp of those too. Not excited.

What Flat said. We always say, "soft touch" and then follow up with the "we don't hit" while holding her hand and looking right at her. Every. Single. Time. Sometimes we then demonstrate soft touch on ourselves (arm or face usually) using her hand while saying "soft touch".
flat0422- Oh like when a kid in class tries to throw scissors at you? Or any of those other fun things? Lol... There are definitely lots of times that the NO comes first! (Ugh that makes me think about the start of the year and all the craziness that brings!)

sjep922 - He was 25lbs 5oz last week. And even though he's taller than A at 31.75", because he's a boy, he's only like 50-75%. We are still in the throwing phase - we just distract and move on as much as possible. Worse comes to worse, we walk away. The hitting phase, I think we're mostly out of, but we grab his hands, look him in the eye and say 'we don't hit' or 'no hitting, it hurts' and then move on and distract. Repetition, repetition, repetition.

Anyone want to go tell my neighbor that it's the 5th of July and that fireworks should have occurred yesterday, or in the weekend before? Not on the Tuesday after?

Exactly. Like when you get the runner and he darts off the playground toward the street? No! Then I will explain.
Preach, sister! (Also cue the scary teacher voice in those scenarios!)
flat0422 we dont have the nest cam but have something similar (can view the monitor from anywhere). Does your app require a password to view your video? I would think a public wifi would be fine to use if your username and password are both secure.
rvamama im sorry F seems so upset :/ im sorry, i forget... How long ago did you start reintroducing dairy to her? Did the pedi think shed be ok? I hope you can get answers soon
Haii guise. Not much going on here. MIL watched P today and said he did way better today. Fever is gone and hes just over all happier. Still working on the transition to coconut milk, but its going better. Only 4oz of WCM today (mixed into the coconut milk to help transition to the taste). After I picked him up I noticed he had a rash all over his back, sides, stomach, and some on his face. Ofcourse he gets a rash after trying new things. Tried strawberries for the first time, MIL washed his clothes in a different detergent than we use, and the coconut milk is still very new to him. But im hoping its just a heat rash. That kids keeping me on my toes recently!
Oh! And P has started signing "more!" Although, i dont think he knows more means "more"...i think he associates "more" with "food" because hell ask for more when were not even eating but its obvious he wants food. Haha, whatevs, still cute. I love that hes starting to communicate a little!
"Cracker" and "uhoh" no longer exist in his vocabulary...makes me wonder what words he DOES know, but just wont say it.
Hey guys. Lost my day in the blinds thread on parenting..
I worked today and want to go to bed early tonight. I'm tired from all of our fun yesterday. We did hang out at a festival w the boys and then MIL watched them (they were sleeping for the night) while we watched Fireworks. I did not need to consume that much booze to have fun!

ruemorgan - N does the same thing with more. It basically means I need some of something. Then we ask what do you need more of and he'll point or have us follow him to the kitchen and point. Or he'll sign milk, because I need to buy a cow. Haha. I hope P's rash goes away quickly!
