tacocatmom - We've found the nostril as well but I try to distract him away from it and not make a big deal. As soon as I say anything, he laughs and shoves his finger up farther. Haha.
rvamama - That bag would have no chance with my child - it would be dumped in 0.003 milliseconds. Haha.
rvamama he is forward facing, the next one down cuts into his neck and shoulders. ETA: he is 33 inches tall and 29.14 pounds so he is wide. babys2015 it is armpit level but covered up by his giant egg roll lol.

kfg10427 - Definitely not trying to start a debate and I'm sure you made an informed decision, but what state are you in that the law isn't rear facing until 2? Again, please don't feel like we're all jumping on you. We just want your little guy to be as safe as possible.
portuguesemama I am in tx, when we talked with our pedi he gave us a print out of the law and a print out from the dmv. TX says as long as they meet the requirements for height and weight on the car seat they can forward face at 1, dmv says same but prefer 2.
I was just reading up on TX law and TX DMV, and it's pretty clear they want kids RFing until at least 2 years of age. I'm not sure that pedi provided the correct information.
I guess I need to talk with the CSFT in my local mom group. Sorry ladies. Eta--- it is 2 as of January 2016, I will be turning all his seats back around in the morning. The CSFT will contact my pedi and get him the correct info. Thanks for the heads up. I feel like an idiot.

You're not an idiot! So glad you investigated more and are taking the necessary steps to keep your little (big!) guy safe!
