I eat the meats, too. But there are lots of vegetarian options if you need your sandwich fix. Grilled cheese sandwiches, paninis, etc. Pinterest yielded tons of recipes. My favorite is just a simple pesto, tomato, and mozzarella combo.

I'm attempting to nibble on potato salad at this moment.
Anndd, "no cold cuts" comes from a fear of listeria in the processed meat. Check out the last few (dozen) food recalls linked to listeria and you'll see that lunch meat isn't exactly a major offender. So eat away!

My last OB gave very few food guidelines, so I asked my new one. Her response was "I can't sit here and tell you I didn't visit subway during my pregnancies."
I think it's good to exercise caution about cold cuts in general, but you can pry my wegmans sub from my cold, dead hand.

I'm also in the cold cut camp. I don't eat em a lot but I dare you to take my Wawa Favorites Italian from me (Italian meats, spinach, hots, tomatoes, and oil vinegar on a whole wheat roll - yum!).
Try grilled cheese with tomato; tuna melts; and all veggie sandwiches.

I'm not working but I made a huge pork loin and plan to use it for DH's lunch and our lunches at home for a while. I prefer meat like that in sandwiches rather than cold cuts anyway. I buy cheap turkeys after thanksgiving and use them for sandwich birds later in the year.

Along these lines, roasting chickens are sometimes very reasonable. Or rotisserie chickens from your grocery store are easy!
Also, I just tried (and bought) veggie burgers at BJs this morning. DS was obsessed, and they were pretty good. They're microwaveable, and I plan to serve them for lunches.

Sometimes cold cuts are the only protein I can even get down the hatch. I'd rather risk the itsy percentage of maybe having listeria than have 100% puking later.
