I ended up taking DS2 in to the doctor today. His fever won't stay away and he is just miserable and not acting like himself at all. No sign of ear infection, pneumonia, strep etc. The pediatrician knows his history with his kidneys and ordered a urinalysis. He had to have a catheter twice, and he never pee'd while it was in. I ended up catching a tiny amount of urine in a collection cup. She prescribed antibiotics for a UTI. He got an injectable antibiotic in the office and we will start oral antibiotics as well. It could still just be that the fever is fighting off a virus and he doesn't have any symptoms of it yet. I don't know I just have this bad feeling in my gut. He won't sleep unless he's held upright on one of our chests, he is eating less than usual, and when he does sleep it's fitful. I'm really scared that something is really wrong and we are just missing it. I feel totally helpless. Any good thoughts or prayers you have to send our way are appreciated.
I'm so sorry! Try not to go crazy with worry (easier said than done I know). I hope the doctors figure out what's wrong and your little man starts feeling better soon!

UPDATE: G was able to sleep in his bed for a while last night, which is an improvement. His fever seems to be gone and staying away. He is wanting to sleep more than usual, but that's not surprising given how little sleep we have all had the past few days. He is also more willing to eat today, which I can only imagine will help things improve. Thanks for all the thoughts and prayers!
Great to hear a good update! Did the dr ever find anything on the VCUG they did early on? Our DS has similar issues but is on a low dose antibiotic until he turns 1 or has surgery. I'm sorry for the stress!

Glad he's doing a bit better. It's so scary not knowing what's wrong!
