This kid (ds2) just wants to be on my boob 24/7. At least he just let me nap for a hour. Ds1 got up at 4am and sat with me and ds2. He fell asleep on the way to daycare...it's gonna be a tough day for him and a tough night for all of us.

I went to the mall sans kids and Dh to return some stuff. Took my purse for the first time since dd was born, usually just toss wallet in the diaper bag. Anyway, I went to pay and found my bands from my NST's staring at me in my purse. And I cried. In front of the checker at Old Navy. Gah. Hormones.
At my last NST, I left the bands in the room after I was done because I didn't need them anymore. I had carried them around for 7 weeks and dutifully brought them to every appointment. At the last appointment the nurse made me take them with me for good luck. So I did and completely forgot until I saw them today. I think I'll leave them in my purse for a while longer.
I can't believe my little 6 pounder is coming up on 9 lbs. I miss my tiny nugget already.
Dd2 is at 12lbs now. How long do you think it will be before your Ds2 weighs more than her?
He was 8 lbs 13 oz at 1 month and gaining fast. Give him a couple months and maybe. Although I sure miss how tiny he was. He is moving out of newborn diapers and clothes as we speak.
I miss sleeping without underwear. My lady garden needs to breathe.
Quoting myself but this is relevant. I think I have a skin infection. Probably due to wearing diapers and not getting any air down there. It's red and slightly tender in the general region. Lovely. Could yeast cause this or am I to assume it's bacterial and I need antibiotics?
Eta do I essentially have diaper rash? Should I try cream with an antifugal?

It could just be like a diaper rash from the rubbing of the pads. I've gotten that before from pads. It usually goes away on it's own. But you could try aquaphor or something like that.

I'm not able to pump right now because the kid is nursing so much and I don't have any extra. I'm going to start taking fenugreek. It can't hurt, side effect is smelling like maple syrup...ill let everyone know if it seems to make a difference.

I took so much fenugreek when I nursed ds. The maple syrup smell was so gross to me.

I took off my underwear and put on a little cream. Letting my undercarriage get some air, it already feels better.

Every day I eat oatmeal for breakfast, 1-2 lactation cookies, and a beer with dinner. I pump while I eat breakfast (right after DS2 eats) because supply is highest in the morning. Getting quite the stash.

I think once ds1 is at daycare and Dh is at work (which will happen tomorrow - 2 weeks of paternity leave) maybe I will find a rhythm. I only have 10-12 oz saved so far.
I was never able to build a stash with DD because my milk didn't keep. It wasn't a real problem since I was home and no daycare til 16 months, but it would be nice to have some on hand. I need to talk to the lactation consultant and also try pumping some and seeing how long it lasts. The nurses didn't know anything about my issue and the pediatrician said he doesn't know of any studies on it and any info is largely anecdotal.
In other news, bedtime with 2 kids and 2 parents was much less of a shit show than it had been while the grandparents were here.

Nothing quite as humbling as family pictures. Really gets those weight loss and fitness goals front and center! But I love the family pictures, so so much.

Did you ever try scalding your milk before storage? Mine got that nasty soapy/sour smell and taste around 20-24 hours old even if frozen but if I scalded it it kept fine in fridge or freezer. It was a pain but just became part of the daily routine.
I'm sorry if yours goes bad even once scalded though - that would be much worse.

I think it did better when scalded. I did try, but not very thoroughly. I was never pumping a lot, so doing just one pump at a time. I found a way to do it with a bottle warmer, but it wasn't precise and still seemed like a pain. If I start soon and get a good thermometer I'm sure I can figure it out this time, but again I'm not sure it's enough of a necessity for me to keep up with it. Pumping is annoying enough without having to scald 😁

I wanna see!!
I put it in the random thread on the private board. 😊
