I've been up for 1 1/2 hours. H and DD are still sleeping. I took a shower and am just hanging out on the lower bunk at the cabin trying to keep quiet and let them sleep. I want to hang out on the porch swing but it is already super hot and muggy. We're going to the aquarium later today.
I took the boys to Chick Fil A today with a couple friends not realizing it was dress like a cow, get a free meal day. It was packed.
Yesterday while at school I got a call that DD had fallen, hit her head, and was briefly unconscious. She has a concussion but after a trip to the ER she is acting mostly normal. So I sent her back to school this morning. I felt awful doing it but the doctor gave her the okay and she wanted to go.

Kids were a mess thing morning--not sure what was wrong but bopping each other with boxes, not doing what I asked, DD asking 90 questions/minute. But we had plans to meet our friends at the splash pad at 9. So used all the strength I had to get them ready and in the car, and we got there, and they just stood there and wouldn't move. It was already hot, so I was not going to just hang out and hope they would be into it later, so we just left. On the way home, we stopped by and picked up some really dirty trucks that were on a freecycle site. My son was very happy. Near that house was a shady, breezy park and so we stopped and the kids had a great time playing by themselves. Then we went home and spent an hour bathing the trucks and putting them in the mud in our yard.
ashiscute, what a mess! My friend's kid fell at camp and they did not send her back because they didn't think they could trust the leaders...but I think you just have to expect a lot of accidents with kids being active and if she wants to go, I'd send her too. We do not have a Chick-Fil-a but there have been rumors for about a year that we are getting one. We really need indoor play options as most of the places we have do not have air conditioning, which is fine except for a few days in July and August.
Both girls had friends over today, we are watching DD1s friend two days this week, so that's fun for her. DD2s friends brought their mom so we all hung out in the backyard and swam this morning . I bought this 2 foot blow up intex pool on sale for 20 bucks and its been the best investment to get through this summer heat. It's nice and big, 2 eight year olds and 3 three year olds were happily play in it this morning with plenty of room, and it folds up nice and small in between uses, so I like that too.
DDs friend will be here a couple more hours, and I need to get the house back in order and get the kids showered and dinner done, all that good stuff.
So hot and humid here. LO had practice, and the breeze was the only thing keeping everyone from melting. I do have a bit of a migraine though from the heat and bright sun. LO ended up having a tick bite him. At least he had a blast at practice.
Finally ordered a new tablet, so hopefully I can post on here with fewer issues.
Almost done with the current mound of mending and alterations (this pile is all the things requiring black thread, which is our biggest pile). Next up is every other color. Lol.
