Good morning! DS and I are hanging out before I go into work. Everyday I'm seeing more and more of his personality. He has definitely inherited my stubbornness. But he's also started to give lots of hugs randomly and I'm loving that.
Back at clinical again today, but with a different preceptor. I'm pretty excited about it. She's a very experienced NP and I think it will be a great day.
LO had her 18 mo visit yesterday and we wound up getting a referral to a speech therapist. Our pediatrician thinks she will just start speaking in full sentences out of the blue, but with my son's history of speech problems, she wanted to err on the side of caution. It's not that she doesn't have words- she has a ton. It's how she says them that worries me. FX early intervention is key!
I'm also stoked because today is a half day and I haven't spend much time with my H lately. Today we are going to hang out together and grill for dinner and swim with the kids. They start school in just over three weeks- gotta cram some more summer in.
Hope all the preggos are keeping their breakfasts down and their beans growing. The rest of you mamas have a great day, too!
Very crabby this morning...AF decided to show up yesterday afternoon, my cat knocked our change jar (a heavy glass jar) off the headboard yesterday so DH had to tell me all about it...then DH woke up late this morning and I slept threw the alarm so we were a little late this morning...oh and did I mention that I am still sick... I can't get over this crud....
I am off tomorrow but I have a class from 9-12...LO is going to hang with my mom while I am there... I am working OT the next 2 weeks just to bank some money...but after we close on the house on August 5th I am taking a week off...
Also hubby has to go to Georgia for class the last week in July, my parents will be on a 2 week cruise/vacation and my MIL is going to Chicago all the same week... so that leaves me with LO and 4 dogs (my 2 plus MIL 2) and 3 cats!!! for a week!!!
Hello everyone! I have been MIA for a few days, but I've been lurking and LTing when possible. DH and I got into a huge fight last week. The outcome was not looking good, but then he took a night to think about things. We're still a work in progress, but we're a bit happier now. He's in SC this week, comes home tomorrow night. LO has been a terror, getting into everything. She keeps trying to run over the dog with her baby stroller. We take the stroller away, so we think she's learning consequence? lol New teeth coming in all the time so she's really clingy. She'll randomly come up for snuggles and hugs. The garden is coming along well. Things are growing, and we've already had our first zucchini of the season. DH wanted to eat it right away, so it got sauteed in butter and was delicious. Lots of beans and tomatoes too. It feels like it's going to be a fruitful year. LO and I have been fighting this cold for what feels like forever. My cough won't go away and she has a runny nose, but only out of one nostril. I'm starting to wonder if hers is allergies. DH and I both get seasonal allergies and I'm sure she's got it. Trying to house hunt still. The houses in our price range get snatched up so quickly, we have to be uber prepared when we finally do find one we like. This is my job while he's in SC for the next three weeks (minus weekends), so this should be interesting. I'm totally new and so nervous. Ooh, I think I hear someone! Off to start the day!

@alexipodes, mornings are the best! I love how happy LO's are after a good nights sleep. Sometimes it's worth being late to work just to play with them for a bit.

Yesterday I snacked so much in the afternoon I skipped dinner. Work chefs had all sorts of goodies I couldn't resist: french fries and carrot cake were my fav. Ok, I lied, I did resist the salads. I woke up last night at 9:30 pm hungry though. Had a little popcorn with the hubs and back to bed.
And now after eating lunch I am still hungry. shocker.

Day four of Emily refusing to nap. I don't know what to do with her. She starts crying as soon as her story is done. If I rock her, she'll be calm. But then I stand up to put her in her crib and she scream cries. I have no idea what to do.
Hi all! ourcrazynavylife the tie dye is soooo adorable! littlelion Leo is getting so big. kcrus I'm happy you were referred to a speech therapist. I'm thinking I will be requesting an eval at Leo's 18 month at the end of this month. He's signing a lot more but is still biting and hitting when he can't communicate which concerns me. shannjohnston I never let LO cry it out at bed, he goes down fine, but for nap I was doing a modified CIO. I would put him down and let him cry for 5 minutes, check him, say I would be right back, night night, you get the idea. That worked after a few days, but it took time and I remember how horrible it was. Now he has special loveys and a glow worm in his crib and seems satisfied with that, but I often do rock him to drowsiness. I'm sorry! raven GL wth the house hunting! babyw15 AF showed over here too. Ughhhh. @alexipodes I love seeing the personalities of our LOs really coming out
Not much happening here. My great aunt turned 90 today so my mom and Leo and I took her to lunch. Leo loved the chocolate birthday cake he's going down late for his nap, FX it doesn't completely screw me on bedtime! AW- at the zoo yesterday with his twin friends- showing off his graphic t! and super blonde surfer dude hair

Hi guys! I've been hanging out in GKU more often these days, but wanted to share this adorableness. They've done this the last 2 days now. It's so cute!
Late check in today. Dh had a doctor's appointment so he was home early from work. We were able to take lo to the splash pad and play for a bit. Dh really enjoyed it- he misses a lot of that stuff during the week when he works. Paddleboard yoga was a blast yesterday. It was really windy so it was really challenging. I lost count of how many times I fell off the board. We had a storm blow up right as we were paddling in. That was definitely scary. I don't do storms. Lol This AF is kicking my ass. Soooo bloated and crampy. Stealing my shoes. That side eye. Splash pad!
@alexipodes I hear ya on the stubborn toddler! kcrus enjoy your family time today! babyw15 hope your day turned around! raven hugs to you. I'm glad things are looking up between you and YH. Good luck house hunting! ourcrazynavylife what's left after they finish the floors? littlelion lo finds all sorts of weird places to play too. Toddlers be crazy! shannjohnston that sounds so rough. Hugs, mama. Is she fighting you at bedtime too? We did similar to sgio7485 when lo was being a disaster at nap/bed. Now he gets a blanket, 2 loveys, multiple pacifiers in his crib and his sound machine on. Fx it's just a weird phase for her and it's over soon! sgio7485 I can't believe how grown up he's looking! BabyStandish omg that is adorable.

sgio7485ashlantic - I'm not sure what's going on with her. On Sunday and Monday it was just nap time that we figured got messed up because she fell asleep in the car on the way home from morning activities. But then Tuesday I purposefully didn't let her fall asleep in the car and still no nap. And again, today, no nap AND freaked out at bedtime. It's like she's afraid to be alone. I can put her in her crib, but if I leave the room she starts wailing. I really hope it's some nightmare based phobia phase type thing. I'm going to see if FIL can take Henry tomorrow so I can sit with her longer (Henry is not great at staying out of her room or being quiet).

shannjohnston Hopefully your FIL will take Henry tomorrow so you and E can try to work out what's going on. GL mama! ashlantic Sorry about AF. The splash pad looks fun! BabyStandish Love those kitty pictures!! sgio7485 That hair!! LO needs a haircut again but I hate the place he's gone to the last two times. They give him the worst cuts. Like not even attempting an actual hairstyle, just cutting the hairs. littlelion I'd like to live vicariously through your snacking. All I've wanted the last two days are bagels. All. Damn. Day. Unfortunately no one at work has come through with any. Downside of working in a tiny office. ourcrazynavylife Sounds like a good morning for you guys! Glad you're enjoying the time with your SIL! raven Sorry you and YH are Ina rocky spot but I'm glad it seems like it's starting to get better. Hopefully you and your LO kick the germy business and are feeling back to 100% soon! babyw15 Hope your day got better after this morning! kcrus Hope your day with the different preceptor went as well as you were hoping. Fx you guys get some good info/tips/answers from the speech therapist when you go. @alexipodes We're getting lots of hugs over here too and it's definitely the bestttttttt!

AFM - how is it only Wednesday? Ugh. We went out to dinner tonight because I just couldn't with the cooking. DH has been on the phone almost all night since we've been home and I'm about to boot him out of our room so I can just pass the eff out.
