I know most of us have bands that we'll listen to when we need a pick me up. I also revert to those same bands on days like today when I'm stressed to help me focus. So who's the group(s) that work for you?
My two favorites are The Cat Empire, they are a 6 piece band from Australia with no guitar. Lots of horns and super energetic. H and I have flown to several places to see them perform since they don't tour near us. My other is Gomez. More of a rock group, they play with fun electric elements in the music, but much more guitar driven.
When I'm stressed and need to focus I'll listen to classical like Yanni, or a Rockabye Baby instrumental station. Florance + The Machine is good for pick me up. There's a Pandora station called 'chill out radio' and it's kind of the peaceful music you might here while getting a massage. I like it.
Oh, and the other day when I was in a funk, I listened to the Pandora Boy Bands station. There's something about "It's Gonna Be Me" or "Bye Bye Bye" that always makes me smile. And sing.
Can you tell I like to sing? Good thing no one can ever hear me though!

I don't often turn to a specific music, and really try to get more into the habit of having it on during the day (my house is so quiet all the time). I do like a variety of music though! Does anyone know Reverend Peyton's Big Damn Band?? That's some fun music! They also put on a great concert! The wife, Breezy, plays a washboard, and the 'Reverend' plays both base and guitar at the same time, on the same instrument. Blew my mind when I saw it!!

Judge away (because if you have any negative comments about that then we can't be friends)
INXS was my first cassette. I listened to that on repeat.
I LOVE INXS. I even watched the first season of that reality show where they were trying to find a new lead singer just because I love themy so much. But really, no one was going to be better than Michael Hutchence.

Truth. Replacing a lead singer is the worst idea of life.
