Hi PAL ladies!
My rainbow baby girl was born 3 weeks ago today on June 22 and now seemed as good a time as any to introduce myself. I have a DS who is 5.5 years old and will be starting kindergarten this fall. I had two missed miscarriages between DS and my rainbow DD, the second of which was a partial molar pregnancy which required a lengthy follow up before being cleared to TTC again. I had some medical complications during my pregnancy due to ITP (a chronic autoimmune disorder which causes a low platelet count), borderline chronic hypertension, and a velementous cord insertion, but everything was managed by my doctors and DD arrived safely. She had some medical issues over the first week, when she was jaundiced and her platelet count was dropping each day, and she was refusing to latch and I was stuck having to pump around the clock and supplement with formula. Since then, her jaundice resolved and her platelet count has been going up (although it still hasn't reached normal levels yet) and should hopefully normalize soon. And we've gotten breastfeeding working pretty well, after a lot of struggles in that regard.
So far, aside from the issues during the first week, DD has been a relatively easy baby, and DS has adapted really well to being a big brother. DS is at camp during the day through August 12 and I've been enjoying having time to relax on the couch and snuggle with DD and give her my undivided attention.
Looking forward to getting to know all of you!
