You're the furthest thing from a feminist? So you don't think men and women are equal and should be treated equally?
I should clarify that I just don't relate to a lot of feminists. I believe in Biblical femininity, where women and men are equal, but created differently and with different strengths.
I've been told by feminists that I am wrong and bad for my opinions, so I just have a hard time identifying with the movement and choose not to label myself as one now.
Literally the only thing it means to be a feminist is to believe that men and women are equal and should be treated equally. It would be like a Catholic saying that they aren't calling themself a Christian because they don't believe exactly the same things as a Lutheran.

I agree with your definition, however other feminists I know have said it was impossible for me to call myself a feminist because of my support of Biblical femininity. They've said the two are in contradiction and called me a "bad feminist".
So for our intents and purposes here, let's just say I agree with your definition and therefore am a feminist.
We both take baths with the baby- much more fun that way! Although H has been pooed on twice Haha. When it happened with our 2nd (always to him never to me for some reason) he took like a 4 month bath with baby break but this time he was just like meh and hopped in the shower.
We would love to have a bigger tub so we could all fit but right now 1 adult and 2 of the three kids is the limit.
I tried to take a bath with the baby the other day and it was not easy! He turned into a slippery seal and was more buoyant than I expected!

Yes! They are so slippery! and the logistics of getting out of the tub, drying myself and DS off, etc....DH definitely has to be home in order for it to work!
I think it should be accepted that no one shave anything unless they want to. I only shave my armpits because DH likes it that way, but I haven't shaved anything else on my body in years. (I don't wear bathing suits and only wear ankle length skirts, so nothing else shows).
I actually get really worked up about the shaving thing. I am the furthest thing from a feminist in so many ways, but I would be the first to burn my bra and razor.
Leg hair doesn't bother me but I can't stand visible armpit hair!
I often say "I'm the furthest thing from a feminist" too. Maybe you can simply define it as meaning we should be equal, but I think in practicality it's more than that. So I'm with you on this one.

Honestly, I think feminism is a much more complex issue than that. I think most women agree that men and women should be equal in the eyes of the law - equal pay for equal work and voting rights, etc.
But there are issues like abortion/reproductive rights, women serving in active combat, gender roles in marriage/parenting, religion, etc. that are much more complex.
I understand why some women feel like they don't identify as a feminist because it often feels like a very vocal minority in the movement make women feel like if they don't agree with them 100%, they don't belong.

That's it.
Thank you for yet again providing a definition (I also know how to use google for definitions). UO thread, right? In practice I think a lot of people who call themselves feminists think there's only one way to do things right. It would piss off a lot of vocal feminists that I changed my last name. Perhaps we both have a beef with those kind of people.
It seems as if at least one other person in here has had similar experiences.
I've been told I can't vote Republican and call myself a feminist. I can't be pro-life and be a feminist. I can't believe in Biblical submission as a wife and be a feminist. This list could go on.
I guess I just don't feel welcome in the "club", which I totally get, because some of the things the club fights for are not things I support.
ETA, but as I said before, I'll gladly burn my bras and razors for the cause.
I'm well behind the game but in need of a new series fix I've started watching Gilmore Girls.
It an easy watch and quite sweet but I'm not seeing what the big deal is that so many make over it yet.
I watched the whole series during the third trimester. It was my first time. I have to say I was unimpressed with the first season, but it grew on me with time.

LO fucking L that you quoted and are bitching at me and not @ismellbooks and @pennygirl2013 who are saying the same fucking thing.
I could try to explain feminism all day but you're just going to sit there and argue that I'm wrong just because a few women who call themselves feminists are a bit extreme.

I am currently binging on The Good Wife and I have to say I really disliked Logan on Gilmore Girls. He was terrible with the fast-paced dialogue, so his acting suffered and I always felt like as a character Rory could do way better than him. But I am loving that actor as Cary on Good Wife. It's a much better fit for him. And he got much better looking with age.
I guess what pissed me off about this discussion was the sweeping generalizations. Is everyone scared to be called Christian because of the KKK and Westboro Baptist Church? Is everyone scared of Muslims because of extremist terrorist groups?
So why are you so scared to be associated with feminism just because of a few extremists? I think it's shitty to just lump all feminists together just because of those with extreme views.

It's not fear as much as feeling like I can't identify with the goals of the most vocal feminists in the media. I just feel like I don't fit in.
And I do hear that argument from people in other types of groups. There are people who may be gay or live an alternative lifestyle that don't feel accepted in mainstrean religious circles, so they choose not to label themselves as a part of that group. Or there may be socially liberal, fiscal conservatives who used to consider themselves Republicans but don't feel accepted in the party as it is, so they prefer to be called Independents instead now. It's the same idea. When you don't feel like your lifestyle or opinions are accepted by the vocal majority within a group you once supported, you often feel like you don't want to label yourself as part of the group anymore. You just don't feel welcome there.
ETA - Are there any women of color on this board? I once read a really interesting discussion on intersectional feminism and how many WOC don't identify with the feminist movement and feel excluded. It was a fascinating read. Many of the women disliked being labelled as a feminist there too.
Perhaps I'm just really passionate about this topic but to me there's a difference with feeling like you don't identify with something verses "I'm the furthest thing from a feminist".
Due to my religion, I would argue that my lifestyle is just about the furthest thing from feminism. I wear a headcovering in public worship per 1Corinthians 11 asa symbol of my husband's authority. I only wear dresses and skirts because my religion tells me men and women are to dress differently. I keep my hair long for this reason too. I do not believe in reproductive choice because my religion tells me my womb belongs to God and not me. I have clear gender roles in my marriage and practice Biblical submission to my husband. While enjoying my right to vote, I never cast a vote that would cancel out my husband's and therefore vote for who he is voting for.
I'm really not joking when I say my religion makes me the furthest thing from a feminist. Doesn't mean I don't support other women's rights to make different choices with their lives, but as you can see, I don't really fit in the club. Lol

New UO. I can't get on board with the Wubbanub. It just looks so silly having a stuffed animal hanging off a kids face. I'm slightly more on board with them as a night thing and can see they'd help with locating the pacifier but as a day thing they look kind of ridiculous.
