Heading to my parents house for cat-sitting soon. The cat is diabetic and gets insulin every 12 hours, so my sister has been there during the week and we are taking weekends until they get back from visiting our brother in Norway.
requiressnacks People just rave about their cribs! In fact, I think all of their baby stuff is supposed to be pretty great. Almost every restaurant that had high chairs in Italy (for my niece) had Ikea high chairs. So you know they're good if the can stand up to restaurant use!
Not many plans for the weekend here. I have some homework to do (I'm working on a Masters in software engineering). DD1 and DD2 stayed at their grandparents last night, so they'll be coming home in a couple hours. FI has really gotten into Pokemon Go so we might go on a couple walks or to the beach or lake or something later so he can catch some lol.
We're going to making a trip to Ikea at some point too. The girls' beds are the kind that can covert from a crib all the way to a full-size, but to save on space we're going to get a bunk bed and use one of the cribs for the new baby. DD1 will be not quite 4 yet, and I was concerned about the height on the top bunk, but Ikea has some bunk beds that are pretty low. I'm only 5'3 and could easily see into the top bunk on one a couple of them.
H took the kids out for a Pokehunt this afternoon while I took a loooong nap. They'll willingly walk for miles without a peep for Pokemon Go, and I love it. Normally they crap out after a mile and a half and whine because we're torturing them with nature. I keep seeing people complain about this game, but I am all for it. I think it's fantastic.

We took the girls to the drive-in theater last night to see Secret Life of Pets. I slept through most of it. Lol
Today, my mom, aunt, DD1, and I drove south to Amish country to get some homemade baked stuff and look at an antique mall for a dresser for DD2, so the baby can have her old one.

We went out and had lunch today, family nap and then play date. Inspired by y'all I decluttered DS's room and filled two trash bags full of stuff and a trash bag full of my clothes to donate. Remind me to say no to birthday party gift bags! Ordered some pants for DS for the fall. Tomorrow maybe I'll tackle office/nursery...
I took DS1 to see Finding Dory today. When Dory was saying, "Someone help me please" DS yelled out, "I'll help you, Dory!" It was so cute, but thank goodness there was one other kiddo there with their dad. LOL.

We did next to nothing this morning but didna ton of errands in 2 hours this evening. We bought our first piece of nursery furniture, the glider.
Tomorrow dh has to finish painting the nursery then we have an arborist coming to look and see of all the trees in our are yard are dead or savable(stupid drought).
Rainy day today. Yesterday we stayed in all day. I decluttered ds toys from his playroom in the basement and the living room. One bag of toys went to the garbage & 1 bag full of toys were moved from the living room to the basement. I need to separate and store away the baby toys. Plus I spiraled on ikea because of all the talk here. Now I want to buy this for DS room. Just gotta figure out if there's enough space.
Hello! I have been MIA for quite a while - I just got back yesterday from 6+ weeks overseas for work and am happy to be back home with DH and the dog. Today I am tackling laundry, maybe starting on cleaning out the guest room, and then going out to dinner with DH to celebrate our 5th wedding anniversary. I will try to post a little more now that I am back stateside and not working 12+ hours a day!
We just bought our crib mattress and cover today. We wanted to order the crib too, but it's online only, so we'll have to do that when we get home. It's starting to get real!
We also drove by the specialist's office for our anatomy scan tomorrow so we wouldn't be stressed looking for it in the morning. I'm glad we did because it was hard to find! This is the first time in a while I'm looking forward to a Monday morning.
Oh my gosh this painting is becoming such a chore. If dh has just listened to me and taped off the ceiling when we painted last week he wouldn't be doing touch ups still and he wouldn't have had to paint the whole ceiling(long story).
I'm also bummed all our trees are in fact dead. The arborist said the birch trees are their number 1 removal because they weren't drought resistant at all. We loved the trees, but he said there was really nothing we could have done unless we ignores the watering rules and watered them daily.

That is a bummer, but better to get drought resistant plants that hang in there long-term. It's not like CA is going to see buckets of rain anytime soon do they still give tax incentives for doing drought friendly landscaping of your home?
Love it, littlelion ! IKEA had so many cute storage things yesterday.
Did you end up buying some furniture? Or just window shopping?
We bought an assembled this wardrobe for MH. It was SUCH A PITA. But, we got it for $180 and it basically fit everything he was using in our spare bedroom closet.
I MAY consider buying the cribs from Ikea. I just need to recover from assembling this weekend. haha.
emilie, I wish they still had the tax incentives. We should have done something when they first started with them. Now our whole yard is dead, which has its pluses and minuses. Plus is we are going to start from scratch and lay it out how we want once the trees are gone. Downside is that if we could get a credit we can't because you have to start with a live yard. Oh well.
