Where is / was your favorite place to travel in Europe?
I took German in middle and high school and junior year we did a 2 week trip to Hamburg and Berlin. My German teacher was from Germany and also gave us a lot of insight into the country. I decided after the trip that I wanted to go to university abroad.
Where I live, the 2nd biggest city, Hamburg for sure. It's the perfect mix of city, without feeling too big, very green, and low key vibe.
The Alps!! I love the mountains!
That is so cool how adventurous you were in high school to decide to study in Germany for university!
S/O: What's your favorite video game? What is your go-to drink at the bar?
Grand Theft Auto was my first real video game and I still love the series. I'll play shooters with my H sometimes though and I also like the game series Fallout.
Gin tonic for sure.
I love gin and tonics. Definitely my go to mixed drink.
What would you say is the scariest thing that's ever happened to you?
We were at a hotel when my oldest son was about 2. We were sitting in our room on the 4 floor when I looked over and saw our son crawling on the open windowsill. Like a huge open window and he was just sitting on the ledge. I gasped really loud, my H grabbed him but not too fast so that we didn't startle him. And then I just started sobbing. It was definitely the scariest thing which has ever happened to me.
So glad he was ok, that is terrifying. I think I'm sold on those child leashes for indoor use... Jeepers!
Do you work or SAH? If you work what do you do? Do you like it?
Probably not. Definitely not when the kids are still in school. There are a lot of benefits to living here in Germany plus I just genuinely like it. The only problem is that we live in the very north and the weather is crap- but it stays light till late in the summer which is fun. But even with the awful weather I still wouldn't want to live anywhere else.
I don't work really. I do a teensy bit of IT freelance for my H but they have a real IT guy that I just help out with easy stuff. I like staying at home with the kids but I don't think I could do it if the older ones didn't go to daycare and kindergarten. I'm hoping to work more once all the kids are in school but I have no idea as to what I would like to do. I'm in the very lucky position that I don't have to work right now.
