Hey ladies
We are a group of women striving to live healthier lives, whether that means losing weight, gaining weight, sticking to a specific diet, counting calories, avoiding counting calories, starting to exercise, continuing to exercise or anything in between.
We check in on Mondays. Feel free to use this ckin throughout the week if you are struggling or have an awesome achievement to share!
QOTD: so this new idiot that works at my Y thinks it's a good idea to up the pricing on the personal training and small group training classes. Needless to say we are all putting up a fuss. I would HATE to have to leave. But financially I just can't be spending all this money!!
So, do you belong to a gym or take classes somewhere? What are you paying?
I'm embarrassed to even say how much I'm paying a month.
The Good: I've been working out almost every day, even if it's just 30 minutes on the elliptical machine at the gym.
The Bad: I've been eating like crap and I've put on 4lbs since starting this IVF cycle.
The Proud:I ran my first official 10k on Saturday. I've run longer than that before, but it was my first 10k race, so I was pretty excited about that. My time wasn't great, but considering it was 85 degrees when I finished, it didn't do so bad.
The Plan: I can't really work out at all this week because my ovaries are huge and my retrieval is Wednesday, so I need to be more careful with what I'm eating. I plan to jump back into my regular running routine as soon as my body is back to normal since my FET won't be until September.
QOTD: I only pay $99 a year for my gym (it's $10/month, but I always try to catch the $99 sales every year). I don't take any classes because those would cost extra and they've never really been my thing anyway.

Good for you on getting your step counts in 4furrypaws. Do you have any recipes you're trying to make with the veggies you got?
Congrats on your first 10k bethkate! Did you enjoy it enough to want to do another one?
AFM, The Good: I've been doing well with eating. I'm not overeating, and I haven't had ice-cream or fro yo in weeks!
The Bad: I haven't worked out in two weeks.
The Proud: I'm not overeating despite the stress going on right now!
The Plan: Eh, I need to do more working out, but there's a 100% correlation between more exercise and more out of control eating for me. For now, I'm going to get into a rhythm of not overeating, then I'll worry about the exercising more.
QOTW: I have a membership to my company's gym. I pay $21/month. It's got really nice equipment and going there before work gets me a parking spot on the really nasty, snowy days, so I work out every day from November through May.
fishchicks, I did. I like the distance, and I'm planning to run another 10k next month. It's funny because I've run 5 half marathons and 3 ten milers, but that was just my first actual 10k race.
That's great that your company has a gym for you to use. That must make it so much easier to work out before work!

Forgot the QOTW. I pay $15/month, the gym is part of a local church. It's small but has good equipment. They have a few classes but they don't interest me.

bethkate after three IVF cycles I don't even get on the scale anymore. It sucks. Your running always impresses me lady!! Yes, please take it easy the rest of this week!! We don't need your ovaries twisting!!!
fishchicks ha. No real recipes in mind. Oh. And we've been having killer hot days and in my clouded head I neglected watering for a couple days....
I'm so sad. I think it's too late now to replant. But at least I know for next year I can do it and I'll have a much better set up!!!
Hey, not overeating is a WIN Hun!! That's a big deal, keep it up!!
iheartbroccoli gah. It's been so hot here I haven't been riding my bike. Boo. That's awesome your getting to!

The good: not much! It was so hot last week that I only hit 10,000 steps three days. But, I swam everyday so I think that more than made up for it!
The bad: low step counts and too many cookies
The proud: I'm back in action yesterday and today with 15,000 steps each day!
The plan: eat better and step up my steps!
QOTW: I pay $78 a month to our YMCA. I don't use it much except for the outdoor pool (but I'm there like everyday in the summer). SO was using it but after August we aren't going to be members anymore. I'll buy just a pool pass next summer!
4furrypaws Awww - poor pea plants! (I think those are peas.) This heat is brutal. I feel like I can't water my yard enough, although my water bill will probably disagree when it arrives!
bethkate Nice! I haven't done any 10ks, but I would guess it's a really nice distance to train for. Not as much road time as a half, but still enough distance to enjoy some longer runs.
iheartbroccoli Sounds like it was a pretty good week. Good for you!
The Good: I'm officially down SIX pounds! Yay! Still have a ways to go... but I'm happy
The Bad: I ate an ice cream sandwich and a funnel cake yesterday... because I was at the amusement park. And I had to.
The Proud: I've been feeling amazing on this new nutrition plan! And really sticking to it (other than the bad yesterday).
The Plan: Keep it up! I'm going to a MLB game tonight though, and there will be a buffet (someone gave us tickets RIGHT behind home plate). I'll do my best to stay good... but hotdogs and baseball go together like peanut butter and jelly!
QOTD: 4furrypaws I belong to the Snap Fitness here. It isn't as nice as the Y, but I like it! And it is only like $25 a month. And the classes are all virtual, so you can choose which ones you want to do and usually there's nobody else there so you get to do them by yourself! I think I have a guest pass if you ever wanna join me
So, do you belong to a gym or take classes somewhere? What are you paying?

I like this idea but I am still feeling very close to my loss so this is hard for me (as I imagine it is for others).
The good: I have been eating well, mostly proteins and veggies. The bad: My weight loss has plateaued and I am feeling sluggish. It has been hard for me to get out and exercise in the 90+ degree weather and I am still afraid to go back to the gym and have people tell me congratulations, assuming I had a living baby. The proud: this is a hard one for me. I guess that I got to 10,000 steps Sunday. The plan: Keep up the eating well, make a doctor's appointment to get my hormones checked to see if I have thyroid problems or adrenal fatigue, continue to take walks, and figure out how to use the pilates ring I just bought.

MissSally you go girl!! Keep it up! And I wanted a funnel cakes SOoooooo bad this past weekend at the Grand Prix but didn't do it. Boo. I still want one. I belong to the Y in Franklin Park. It's minutes from my house but it's the most expensive Y in the city. It's BS. I pay way too much.
elephantmomma welcome to our Ckin. The heat does make it rough to get outside.
