People using the word "literally" incorrectly People who do not understand they their actions affect others, like drivers that don't get into turn lanes till the last minute.
I am one of those people who will remember every single little embarrassing moment and replay them all in my head over and over. I am socially awkward, so I have a lot of little embarrassing moments. Hmm, most embarrassing, probably when I completley failed my team during a team crossfit competition. It was the finals, and the first part of the worout was something I was ok at, and said I could do, so they gave that task to me. They even asked me a couple times if I was sure I could do it (it was a large number of ring dips) I said yes, then could not finish. It was a timed workout, so it was me struggling to do this one task in front of everyone for like 15 minutes. It was awful.
My favorite movie is probably Thomas Crown Affair. I can almost never watch a movie more than once, but I have watched that one a number of times. It is clever and well thought out
It is amazing watching my kids develop their personalities. They just constantly impress me, and are such wonderful little people. I can seriously just watch them do anything and be so in awe of their innosence, their intelegence, and how sweet and kind they are.
Do you wear your hair up or down most of the time?
I am very logical, if that is a personality trait.
I like morning showers, but when I work out, I do it at night, so I take night showers then instead. I just feel refreshed with a morning shower.
I almost always wear my hair up, always have. This kills my mom, but I will play with my hair if it is down, and it annoys me when it is down. I can not stand hair blowing around, getting in my face, or making my neck hot.
I moved to Hampton Roads after college, for the job
I love being near the water. It is a neat area with its diverse population, since so few people are actually from here. I hate the weather and humidity, but at the same time I like having 4 seasons, and actually getting snow sometimes (I grew up in so cal)
I used to go to busch gardens all the time! There were probably a few years I went 15+ times with a season pass. I have not gone in a few years, but maybe next year we will get season passes again since DD will be able to start enjoting it.
And in hopes of not sounding like a jerk for having that as my tag line, when TCF had the fundraiser where you could buy a tagline, my old BMB did nominations, so that was the tag line someone came up with for me
Do you do workouts other than crossfit? How often do you work out?
Favorite restaurant?
Odd jobs before becoming a rocket scientist?
For now just crossfit, and that is rare these days. Before kids I did it about 5 or 6 times a week, now I am lucky if I get in 1 or 2 workouts a week (actually have not started back since the second kid, but planning to in Aug.)
My favorite restaurant closed down a few months ago it was a local french restaurant. It was more expensive, so we only went for certain ocasions, but even then the waiters remembered us. The waiters were so knowledgeable with pairing wine for you, and while expensive, the prices were reasonable for what you got. And they had amazing wine dinners every so often, those were always such fun nights!
I coached gymnastics for a bit in highschool. I interned at a really small eletrical engineering company for a few summers in college (cool fact, I got to do some safety analysis for a ride at Disneyland while I was there), and I interned for a very large company working on satellites one summer in college. Oh, and I currently am an assistant coach for crossfit a few times a week.
Is there any other fields of engineering that interests you?
What is your favorite color?
I think that I would really enjoy biomedical engineering, but I have never done anything in that field. Aerospace engingering is basically mechanical, with a focus on planes and space, so I do enjoy mechanical. I have no brain at all for electrical or chemical engineering though, I just don't get it.
Have you ever eaten at any of my favorite restaurants in the Norfolk/VA Beach area?
Kincaids One Fish Two Fish Citrus Hot Tuna Chicks Oyster Bar
I have been to Kincaides, but not in a really long time! I remember really liking the food. I am pretty sure I have been to Hot Tuna. Never heard of One Fish Two Fish or Citrust though. I have heard good things about Chicks Oyster Bar, but I have just never made it there
Has anything you've ever worked on gone into space?
What's your favorite time of year?
I stumbled into Crossfit. DH and I were frustrated with the gym we were going to,and just happened to be at a restaurant next to a CrossFit gym while part of the workout was outside. CrossFit was not big at all at the time (8 years ago), so we went over and asked about it. I took some convincing, but DH taliked me into trying it, and I have been hooked since.
I did gymnastics growing up, through high school. I did diving in highschool I played volleyball for a number of years in a work league. That is actually how I met DH.
Hmm, none of my big projects have gone into space, maybe a few things I was less involved with have. One of my current big project will probably go into space, which is awesome. I have worked on a number of things that have gone onto commercial or military planes.
In VA I love spring! Warm, but not hot and humid. All the flowers are bluming, and the days are getting longer. I love long days, but here the long summer days come with oppressive heat.
Oh! Also: what did you want to grow up to be when you were little?
I wanted to be a scientist like you see in cartoons, mixing chemicals in a tube over a little fire. Chemistry is not one of my favorite subjects though. I also wanted to be a marine biologist.
Do you eat Paleo? A lot of crossfitters I know do.
I used to. When I was eating paleo I felt amazing, I had so much energy, lost a good bit of weight, I did better at crossfit. I really want to get back to it, and hopefully will someday soon. I am just lazy, and like ice cream, and junk food so much

I eat a diet very similar to Paleo. It's a hard diet to follow. You have to love to cook!

I try not to, other than them being, happy, kind people, who function well in the world.
I always think of the saying that everyone wants their kids to be better and do better that them. Like the next generation goes a step further. I certainly hope for that for my children, but I don't necessarily claim to know what that means.
I do find myself hoping that they are math or science people, just because I can relate to that. I hope they are good at sports because I think that can get them in with a good group of kids, and keep them busy and out of trouble. Plus the health benefits.

I hate, HATE cooking, that is a big part of my problem. Luckley DH is good at cooking, but finding the time to cook paleo is hard right now. We get home from work and the toddler wants food right now, the baby wants to nurse, we have to get things ready for the next day, etc. Maybe once we find our grove. I feel like I am making excuses saying this to you though, since you manage to do it all!

I don't think I could eat this way if I worked outside of the home. Meal prep takes a lot of time. There are no convenience foods on Paleo unless you have a huge grocery budget to buy the pricey condiments and packaged stuff. Otherwise it's all from scratch. I get you!!
I usually wear kakies or something similar. I used to dress nicer, but none of my nice clothes fit anymore, and I don't want to spend the money on new clothes. Plus for now all my tops are nursing friendly. I could just wear jeans, like a lot of people, but I don't feel professional. I do wear jeans on Fridays though.
If you had an entire day all to yourself, what would you do?
A good, bold, very dry, red wine
I would probably declutter my house after sleep in in. We have too much stuff, but I never get the chance to do anything about it. However a day would not be enough.
