I know it's starting a little late today.
So have you had to take off work because of morning sickness? I am feeling so horrible today, I feel like I can't function at work. The ultimate goal is to save all my time for after baby is born, but this is ridiculous. I need to go home!

No I have not. I'm sick every single night that I work. Sometime between 4-7 am it hits me regardless of if/when I eat. I am scheduled vacation next week--so after that I need to save ALL my time for after baby. I didn't quite accumulate as much since I reduced hours after DD. And it's only going to be a year and half between leaves.
Also I haven't been given my 30 min dinner break for over 2 weeks due to how busy we have been. Usually I am eating while catching up on my chart or sitting at the nurse station. Also usually shoving quick snacks in my mouth while running around. But damn I miss the time to close my eyes and put my head down away from call lights! Summer baby boom for sure!
I've taken one day. The rest I'm saving for doctor's appointments. I'm really lucky though and my boss will let me make up the hours on the weekends if I don't want to use sick time.

I'm lucky that I feel pretty good for the most part. Any nausea is more of an annoyance than stopping me from doing anything. So no days off here. I hope the people struggling start to feel better soon!
Not much going on today. Trying to decide which of two options in making for dinner tonight. We'll see what sounds good when I get home.
I'm lucky to be my own boss and be able to work from home or office. Luckily the MS is mostly over for me now, but the tired is still lingering. I've gone home early the last 2 days to take a nap, and it looks like I might do that again today. My goal is 4pm. there's plenty more to do, but 4pm seems very reasonable.

Luckily after getting some lunch, I feel like I can make through the rest of the afternoon. flyinghorses6 you are powering through! I hope you have time for more lunch breaks. It's the not eating that kills me.
I'm so sorry for everyone who is feeling so sick and struggling at work. I came on here to ask a food related question, but think I'll save it 'til we're all feeling better!
I told my closest co-worker at work about my pregnancy and the response was icy at best. We don't work together, so my mat leave won't affect her. The only thing I can think of is that since she doesn't have any kids she just DGAF? My pregnant feelings are hurt!
Later today we have an office baby shower and I am REALLY looking forward to talking about babies and eating snacks.
Mine is usually worst at night so I haven't had to take any time off. My boss told me though if I need to sleep in because I don't feel well to just make up the time so I don't have to take personal time. I am doing the same with doctor's appointments.

I just feel mildly to moderately nauseous throughout the day but mostly it just pisses me off, not sends me home. Sorry to the mamas who are feeling like crap, hugs!
I found a $20 outback gift card in my purse and really wanted to get some seared ahi tuna. It's soooo good there, but I'm feeding me and my 18 month old and figured that wouldn't go over well. So chicken quesadillas it is! Still excited I don't have to cook while my dh is at golf.

I took one day earlier on, but thankfully I can work when and where I want. Even though my hours are super flexible I'm trying to get as much taken care of now before maternity leave. It's during lent which is a pretty busy time of year for clergy, so I've got to really make plans.

With DS (f14 baby), my 6 weeks ended the day before Holy Thursday. And my church insisted that I be there to lead the choir, even though I had not rehearsed with the choir in 6 weeks. I thought it was a little unreasonable -- someone else chose music and rehearsed it but didn't get to see it through, and I had no idea how the kids had been prepared. Fun times.

I will probably be back for Easter. It's late this year and finding guest preachers is hard enough during the year let alone Easter. Also that sounds like a pastor I wouldn't get along with. A good choir director is hard to find and keep. I make my choir director happy!

I officially have my first appointment scheduled! And my midwife agreed to do a "is there twins?" scan because my anxiety about that is through the roof. So double yay. Two weeks to go!
I have nothing to do at work today, so I took a one hour nap under my desk this morning. Gawd, did that help!
Also, MH injured his non-replaced-knee leg last night and has been on a cane or crutches since then. Fun times with 10 month old twins while pregnancy exhausted. It shouldn't be a major injury, but annoying to less help at home nonetheless.
I've taken one day off before I started on the zofran because the headaches and nausea were so bad. Plus it was a bad crying day worrying about the cysts, etc. I was just mad it was a 12 hour shift bc I'm saving all my hours for as long a leave as possible. I had it calculated that I could go back after July fourth but now I'll have to go back the week before, unless I last an extra week! Oh well. I needed that day desperately, so it is what it is.
Nowadays, I feel better w the meds but I need to constantly eat if I'm at work. Seems the stomach uneasiness only hits late at night and I NEED to eat between 5-7am or I will throw up once I get home. Oh well. I'm hoping these symptoms are almost done bc I'm 11weeks tomorrow. We will see...

How are you able to take such a long leave if you don't mind me asking? I get 6 weeks with short term disability and I am allotted 6 extra for family medical leave/maternity leave. After that I have to return to work or they can give up my position. So I spread my PTO throughout the 12 weeks so I'm not cutting checks to cover my benefits.

I was really lucky last time that I felt mostly fine until the evenings. I didn't have to take off work except for doctors appointments. Sub plans are so annoying. This time, well, bedtime is appreciated at this house.
Today DS woke up from his nap with a fever of 102.5 and a slight rash on his chest. I'm wondering if this is a reaction to his mmr vaccine or if I should call in. 102.5 seems high for a vaccine fever, but what do I know?! He's definitely clingy and grumpy today, so I hope he sleeps okay. I'm also now wondering if we should not bring him to our dr appointment on Friday. If it's not just a vaccine reaction I don't want him to get any pregnant ladies sick! I might call MIL and see if she's available.

My hospital is Union and our union contract gives us up to six months covered with FMLA for maternity leave. The hospital gives us two weeks of paid leave and then anything after that is from our sick/vacation time. So we hoard our hours if we're trying to have kids (or ppl that don't care to take it unpaid) and then can take up to six months. It's a really sweet benefit we get.
Jealous +1. Wow- that is an awesome policy. I am praying that I don't need bed rest since that will start my maternity leave and I only get 12 weeks total. So I'll be on my deathbed and totally worthless but come to work to keep all 12 weeks intact. Plus since DH and I work for the same company the 12 weeks/FMLA can only be used by me. DH gets zero time off. (This is a Fortune 500 company too. ).
Yeah it's an amazing benefit, if you have the time or can afford to go without pay. I feel pretty lucky. Which is why I'm pretty sad that I'll have to find a new job next year if (most likely) we move for DHs residency. Ah well. Enjoy it while I can!!
