We are on a family car trip today. 11 hours. DH is the annoying driver who goes the speed limit in the fast lane and everyone passes him, my biggest pet peeve in the world. Wish me luck.
I am trying to wine 98 degrees tickets on the radio. I have no clue what I would do if I actually won since the concert is tonight, but it's fun to try!
I was supposed to have lunch out with coworkers today but we had to reschedule. I am kind of relieved because my friend who was super cold about the pregnancy was going, and I feel awkward around her now. I can't wait until everyone else knows. Why oh why did I decide to tell her early!?
My coworker is driving me f**king crazy. She's all over the place, not updating the team, canceling and adding licenses for software, installing things on her own (she is NOT computer savvy)... I can't wait for 4 o'clock.
And she's been kind of an asshole to me anyway. I tried being nice, and now I'm just being civil. LOUD NOISES!

Sitting at the OB. Had an 8:15 ultrasound and then a 9:30 doctor visit. A lil worried because US tech mentioned going to a higher level hospital for the anatomy scan at 20 weeks. Wanna def ask the OB about that since nothing has been said about that before. Ugh- twins make things so confusing!

Been MIA because of our house hunting trip. A few nice places but sadly everything we wanted was snatched up just ahead of us. Downside to only having 6 days on the ground to look in person. On the plus side I'm more excited to move there now, it's a really nice area. DH leaves in 8 days to go there ahead of us. I'm just trying not to think about how long it could be until we see him again. FX for my house selling soon would be appreciated.
littleredfish I hope you sell your house soon. Trying to sell your house is so stressful.
DH's family is horrible about telling us when they are coming to visit us and when they plan to leave. DH now has to tell them that we need at least 1 week notice of when they're coming and then an idea of when they'll be leaving. Now it sounds like we need to start working with DH's friends on the same thing. We knew they'd be coming for a quick visit sometime this weekend but I just found out that they are coming this afternoon and staying the night. This drives me crazy but since his friends are doing it too I'm thinking maybe I'm just weird and most people are like this?

@jacks605 - Going to a better equipped facility is not abnormal for the 20 week scan. Our office doesn't have the equipment to do super detailed u/s so we have to go to the local hospital to have the 20 week AS. Don't be alarmed just yet

@jacks605 A twin a/s is no different or more alarming that a single one. It just takes longer. Of course I've never had a singleton a/s... but my a/s was NBD except the usual excitement.

puma1315, uh no. Letting people know when you are expecting them to entertain, feed, and house you is basic human courtesy. I can't imagine just dropping by somewhere for the night without plenty of advance notice. Dropping by a BFF's house for a cookie, maybe. Meals and bedding is different, yo!
puma1315 - you are not weird. I would be so not okay with ppl being like that! I also like my space and hate extended guests for any period of more than 2 days.
@zcookiemonster - I would die. I can't be in a car where the driver does that. My dad does that now that he's old and I cringe SO hard in the backseat. DH is convinced were all going to die when he drives bc he goes slow and someone's going to not notice the slow car and ram into it. 😏
littleredfish I hope you sell soon and find something soon!
We had our genetic counselor meeting yesterday. It was mostly a waste of time talking about shit we already knew but we did get my blood drawn! So now 10-14 days. DH is livid at the wait time. He keeps saying we should just go to his old lab (where he got his PhD) and do the test right now. He also looked up the laboratory she is sending my blood to and their website says wait time of 5-7 days so he's extra cranky that they tell us 10-14. And said we should just call the lab directly in 5 days. Lol. It makes me laugh, which I guess is good, all things considered. I did have an ugly cry yesterday when we got home. For like half the evening. I'd fall asleep and then wake up and cry again. I hadn't cried in almost a week, though, so that was impressive. I feel better today. Just resigned. And anxious to make these two weeks go by faster. Oh well!
This weekend? Work tonight 👎🏼 but then off Saturday - mani/pedi date with my BFF and then celebrating our anniversary Saturday night! And lazy day Sunday 🙂

puma1315 Yeah, they should definitely give you plenty of advanced notice if expecting to stay more than a couple of hours. It's just basic good manners. What if you had something planned for the evening like a concert and had bought tickets in advance only to find out you will be having house guests staying over? And I thought my in-laws were annoying - telling us they are coming for a week without even asking if it's okay with us first.

puma1315 - You are definitely not weird. I hate assuming house guests. Just because we always say you are welcome to stay at our home, doesn't mean you can show up without giving us the plan. Not. Okay. DNW unexpected houseguests.
addymac - Go easy on yourself. You guys are dealing with a lot of unknowns, which can be super scary and stressful. Don't apologize for your emotions. And happy early anniversary! Enjoy the mani/pedi date, too!

I worked last night and it was a tough shift. I work again tonight but praying for a small let up. It's been two weeks of crazy busy!! I like to be steady....but not crazy! I also can't stand when we have to keep mother/baby couplets down in delivery because there aren't any rooms on that unit. No offense but so do not want to help you breast feed every few hours. Just not for me.
After work tonight I am going to my parents for the week! Going to sleep a few hours then head there. It's about a 3 hour drive. Both my sisters are home too this weekend so that will be really fun.
Also....watching Harry Potter weekend. All weekend.

Thanks everyone I'm glad it's not just me. They gave us a 50 minute warning and they should be here within the next 10 mins. DH is at work still but hopefully should get off soon. He already know he owes me for this.

😡😡😡 fifty minute warning is total crap! I'm so sorry!
Combine that with me being flamed over in Parenting for not voting for Hillary and I'm just done with today.
I don't think you should be surprised by the reaction you got. Especially since they talked about the same exact thing in the beginning of the thread. Especially since they've talked about it before. You had to have known what the reaction would be.
ETA I also don't think it was an especially strong flaming

This is true for my office as well. We get scheduled to one of two locations for the 20-week scan. Neither is the OB's office. I think they don't have ultra sound techs that work there?
My H is going out to (IMO) the best steak house in Chicago for a bachelor party tonight. He is probably spending a gagillion dollars and don't even get leftovers since they are going out afterwards. What should I have to make myself feel better? Thai take out? Dairy Queen? None of this sounds as good as steak...
wildflower810 , I feel sick to my stomach thinking about choosing between the two candidates, but I don't post about it on TCF! Sorry about the (no) naps.
Speaking of food- is there anything you ladies are avoiding? I have been extremely lax about the food restrictions this time. I feel a little guilty after eating steak tartare at a party and I am thinking I should rein it in.

Oh, I'm exactly 0% surprised. I usually have a policy of not talking about politics and etc on the internet and I knowingly broke it.

Avoiding because of reasons other than aversions? Not particularly. I did stick with cooked sushis the other day over raw ones. Beef products have a really low risk compared to pork or chicken, (I'm not exactly sure how tartare is served...) so I probably wouldn't worry.

wildflower810 it sucks but this is why I never talk politics online or in person. It's too frustrating and people are just so passionate about their own personal feelings. This election has been especially crazy.

I do not eat raw meats at all, I'm careful about fish, and I order my steak medium well. And obviously no alcohol.
