My parents are bringing dinner over tonight! It is so nice not to have to think about cooking Sunday I'm getting together with some girlfriends and their kids! Everyone now is either pregnant or has kids... Oh how times have changed from our bar hopping days!
I finished my cookie order...thank goodness! DH got the baby to sleep after being up and eating for five hours. I'm not treating myself to a little time by the pool until he wakes up. We are making homemade pizzas tonight. Not sure what else I'll do all weekend...but I need to get out of the house each day.
We are spending the weekend at DH's parents' beach house. Even though I'm not cleared to go in the water yet, I'm enjoying it a lot. There's lots of people to hold and love DD, so between feeds I get lots of me time!
My realistic plans are to get groceries & go out to eat or on a short walk. My hopeful but not holding my breath plans include going to my in laws house & the beach.
Well DH left this afternoon for a bachelor party weekend in Nashville, so I'm solo. I'm nervous for overnight...hopefully they're good for me! A neighbor is coming down to help me with a few feedings tonight and tomorrow. So thankful!
chriskoo - beach house with the inlaws was my weekend last weekend. Its not usually my favorite time but with 2 kids and all the distractions I had a lot of freedom and it was glorious
No real plans for us this weekend. Laying low this weekend and next because after that we are traveling a ton for the end of August.

Ds1 has discovered Chopped Jr. (Aka kid chefs in our house). He's loving it and it's so much better than cartoons! And he asked for grapes and bell peppers for a snack as the kids were using them.
babyzebra did you go back to work this week? I think I missed it if you updated us, how has it been?
I did go back to work this week. I haven't been around that much because it's been really hard on me. I think I did too much too soon. It was a good financial decision to go back so early, but that's about it.
I was so depressed after having DS that I was honestly really relieved to go back to work at 4 weeks. I was doing really well this time, so I didn't feel that sense of relief in going back to work so soon and really dreaded it instead. I think next week will be easier though. Thanks for thinking of me!
When do perineal stitches stop hurting? I had a 2nd degree tear, it was going really good the first 2 weeks with pretty limited pain, but now it's throbbing when I forget to take my pain killers. (I hate the idea of taking pain killers while nursing but have to keep telling myself they wouldn't prescribe it if it wasnt ok.)
I've been doing sitz baths, witch hazel wipes, & dermoplast spray, but still super ouchy. Did this pain linger like this for anyone else?
I'm thinking of calling/emailing my OB because I don't see her for another 3 weeks.
GOmamab15 I remember the OB at the hospital saying they might itch or burn a bit as they heal, but what you describe sounds different. I would call them. I'm sorry! I hope you feel more comfortable soon!
GOmamab15 I had a second degree tear both times with stitches and I don't recall the pain getting worse for me after 2 weeks. I did feel a kind of burning sensation as they were healing, but nothing painful. Everyone heals differently and I'm sure you're fine, but I would give a call to see if they want you to come in for an exam.

babyzebra I'm sorry for the tough week. I totally get it, I was a disaster with my son. My boss actually sent me home after 5 hours on my first day back because I was pretty much crying the whole day. Hope you have a good weekend. Next week will be a bit better.
We have a busy weekend planned. 1st birthday party for my nephew tomorrow and then driving to DC on Sunday to meet friends for breakfast. One of my closest friends growing up lives abroad and is home on leave. His visits are few and far between due to the nature of his work so I'm excited to see him and his kids since it's been 2 years since we last saw each other in person!
babyzebra, I am really sorry. That is so tough, I hope you get a lot of sweet snuggles this weekend and feel better on Monday. I hope your DH did well on his first few days as a SAHD!
Anyone have a nursing bra they love? I bought a few new ones this time but hate them, or maybe they're just getting deformed and ruined when I wash them.
We have been up in the mountains since Thursday night. It is nice to be out of the 100 degree temps. Today is sort of a somber day. We are going to a BBQ to celebrate one of MH's friends that is dying from ALS. He will be there along with his family.
Today DS is at the zoo with my parents. I wanted to go, but it's way too hot to bring DD. I certainly don't want to wish time away, but I'm really looking forward to DD being a little older so we can do more fun stuff all together. We are just going to relax and do some cleaning around the house and then probably go out to dinner once they get back from the zoo.
