DD still takes a nap at daycare but has not been taking a nap at home for almost a month now. Daycare is closed today and DD is just playing in her room instead of napping.
It is way too early for her to drop naps completely, right?? She has been sleeping in some mornings but I thought they still needed daytime sleep?
Apparently my BIL stopped napping at 18 months. Yikes. A hasn't been napping very well either. I've been blaming it on all of the travel and all the changes we've had this summer. I'm guessing when he starts preschool in a few weeks he'll be crashing by the afternoon lol I'm trying not to worry too much- keep the regular nap routine and try to get him down but it's not like I can go in and force him to lay down and go to sleep.

If she isn't cranky, roll with it. I like establishing quiet time once naps are dropped. Let's them nap on days they need it in that odd interim period too. Seriously, dropping the map for good can take a year after it starts!

I would go insane without nap time! C is still taking 1.5-3 hour naps and they're very important to everyone's afternoon demeanor. I like the idea of enforcing a "quiet time" in the place of nap time. I have a friend who's LO stopped napping when she weaned him around 20 months. Every kid is different, so I would just follow her lead and see where that takes you.

Wake up: ~8am Nap: 12-2pm (sometimes as late as 3pm) Bedtime: ~9pm
Naps are the best!! I have no idea when they drop naps. I guess when they drop them at DC then we will drop them at home. It will be a sad day in our home.
I"m not ready for Max to drop naps, neither is Max really. I find at home he fights it more and while he should go down at 12 he will push until 2. He's okay with a short nap but at his best when he has 2 hours, no nap makes him sad and cranky in the evening.
I'm not ready for DD to give up naps either. But yesterday she refused, and then fought bedtime. I was not pleased. She used to be so easy to put to bed, but the last couple weeks have been hell, and she's been staying up until 9ish.

Sometimes this is just a phase. It can be a week or so then go back to normal.

I hope this is just a phase! DD's naps are when I can actually get things done, if the baby lets me. If not, then it's 1 on 1 time with him.

OK so she was home for a week and only napped once. I still put her down like I would for a nap but she just plays in her room until I get her so I guess I should take it. She's just a cranky mess by dinnertime. H and I tried to go in there and remind her to lay down and nap but that wasn't successful.
