I will be induced at/around 37 weeks due to the twins sharing a placenta and it being overworked/increased risk of placental breakdown//etc. 37 weeks exactly happens to be my dads birthday. We will be scheduling in the next week or two and if this date is an option, would you choose it? Does anyone share a birthday with a grandparent?
Btw it feels so odd to "choose" their potential birthday (knowing that induction could take longer than planned and they might not really be born on that day).

I would pick it if you've got a good relationship with your dad. The day before my due date is my dad's birthday and I know he would LOVE it if the baby came then. I bet it feels a bit odd to choose the girls' birthday! I'm such a control freak and I have this weird thing about numbers if love to have that control.

I think it would be really fun for them to share with your dad! He could always make a fun tradition with them every year, like take them for a birthday breakfast or if he's far away, do a special birthday phone call.
We chose to get married on the same day as my grandparents' anniversary and they were so thrilled and honored.

That is awesome your due date is so close to your dad's birthday! Maybe baby will come that day!
This is kinda what I've been thinking. My dad and I are very close and he would think it was the greatest thing ever to share his birthday. I just don't know if the twins will have the same appreciation when they are older and knowing that I "chose" to have it that way makes it a weirdly difficult decision.
My doctor said I'll have the choice of 37 weeks exactly or 37w, 4d and selfishly I don't want to be pregnant an extra 4 days either. Lol
Since you and your dad are close, I think it would be special. Hell we announced our pregnancy to my immediate family on my dad's birthday and he kept telling me it was the best birthday present ever.
My dad and sister share a birthday, my mom and I are 3 days apart. It was great growing up. You get to celebrate with family together and still have your own 'friend' party. It also makes it easier for any out of town family to help celebrate. My due date is FIL's birthday so I'm hoping for the same thing!
My H also shares a birthday with his grandpa and my niece and brother share a birthday. I guess we like double birthdays in our family.
My mom's birthday is the day before mine and it's always been a special thing for us. When I was younger we'd have a huge BBQ with all of mine friends and hers on the weekend closest to both of our birthdays, and now that I'm older we get together and do a day of shopping and get our nails done and watch girly movies all weekend.
It's just a really cool thing that she and I have.

I vote yes too, that would be so sweet. Would they let you start the induction the night before to increase the chance that they'll be born before midnight on the selected day?
Thanks for all the responses! Ok, you've convinced me that this would be super awesome and I know my dad is going to be so excited to share his birthday with 2 granddaughters. Now, hopefully these girls decide to cook for 3 more weeks and we make it to 37!

I was thinking this as well. I have my next Ob appt next Friday where we'll discuss all of our options and I'll be sure to bring it up.
