Jake still isn't walking. This isn't abnormal right!? He'll be one on the 28th. He walks with his push vtech walker and when he's holding your hands. He's not even standing on his own w out holding something. So DC reminds me that he needs to be able to take 6 steps on his own before he can move on to the 1 year old room. I'm hoping he gets there in the next 3 weeks.

A didn't start walking until like 14 months. Don't worry!!

Super normal. I feel like most kiddos I know couldn't do 6 steps by 1!
@betweenthelines, Congrats on weaning! I'm glad you were able to bring things to a close in the way you wanted.
joi922, I hate your IT department. I get that they want to save money, but when you factor in your lost productivity and the money they have to pay to employ the IT guy, they should just pony up the money for a new computer and everyone would be better off. Good grief!
carabassa Poor Ida! Falls like that are sad and scary. Just give her lots of snuggles. Fortunately she won't remember a thing.
abvintage Cows milk can be a difficult transition for a breastfed baby. You might want to try warming it (baby is used to breast milk being body temperature) and see if that helps. Continual exposure to it will also help. Just keep offering it even if he seems uninterested.

Totally normal. There is a huge range of what's normal when it comes to developmental milestones. Some babies start walking by 9 months, others not until 16 months. As long as you're not seeing many delayed milestones within the same category (doesn't crawl, pull up, or cruise) or many delayed milestones across multiple categories (gross motor, fine motor, communication, etc.), most likely it's just variation in development. He's right on track if he can walk with a walker or holding your hands. Even if he wasn't doing those things I wouldn't be concerned yet. A lot can also happen in a short time.
Super busy weekend.....with a sick babe. B woke up screaming at 1:00am Sunday morning. He's NEVER done that. We couldn't figure out his problem. He finally quieted down after an hour of crying, but it was super weird. He's on the upswing now! He's getting a haircut at 3:45 today! I'm so excited. He's got a bit of a mullet going on.

Doc told me that 13-14 months is average and she doesn't get itchy about it until 18+ months.

DD didn't start walking until like 13 months. Ds still isn't walking unassisted and he was 1 on 7/24. I wouldn't stress it.

Normal. DS was walking at 9 or 10 months. DD is just cruising on the furniture and turned 1 on Friday. She let go yesterday to stand on her own for 3 seconds, and that was the first time I'd seen that. Our pedi says she's doing and it sounds like Jake is too!
Thanks ladies! You all made me feel a lot better. I don't know why I let it bug me so much. They made me feel like he's behind or something. I guess most of the kids they have move on right at 1. I haven't seen any kids stay past 1 in the 10 months Jake has been there.

What should I do for my birthday (next month)? My friend is taking Jack for that entire weekend so I can have some much needed me time. I'm so freaking excited. But what should I do? I'm thinking maybe go to the beach or maybe I'll just sit at home, sleep, and netflix. But I want to do something fun. Idk. Ideas please!

hiimjamie, Jack isn't walking either and he's a year. It's been bugging me too because my niece, who is 3 months younger than jack, is practically walking already. But his doctor told me that he's doing just fine developmentally and not to worry about it.
carabassa I'm actually very excited about the career I'm going to school for currently. I'm studying to be a school psychologist. I just have a little bit before that. packmomma gave me an idea to look into that I feel sort of silly for not thinking of. So I have another area to look into. Thank you for asking though.
@mrspanpan I hope the medicine kicks in quickly and he feels better!
gingerygirl sleep would be a big thing. I'd also splurge on a pedicure.
carabassa, love tits for the piano tuning, to for Ida's fall. Baby falls are always sad and scary.
aydee, hooray for pre-school! Hope the twins had a great first day!
hiimjamie, Poppy turns one on the 15th and she just started walking yesterday afternoon! She was doing the same thing- using the push toy or walking with me holding her hands everywhere, so it sounds like Jake is super close. But even if he wasn't about to walk, my understanding is that it's not abnormal. We were at my friend's 2 year old's bday on Saturday, and she didn't start walking until 18 months– but now she's running around all over the place!
Was busy at work this morning, but then spent 1 hour this afternoon at Michael's getting crafting supplies for Poppy's birthday party, and another hour organizing photos to print at Walgreens. I work so many extra hours in June and July that I don't feel guilty. And now it's 5 and it's time to go home!
We went out for date night while my parents watch B. I'm still trying to catch up on sleep. Next time it's date day. Screw losing anymore sleep.
Also, super confused. B HATES cows milk so far. He goes so far as to wipe off his tongue after trying it. But has wayyy scaled back on nursing. So no cows milk and very little mama's milk. IDK. He's been snotty and sleeping like crap since trying cows milk but fine during the day. I'm not sure if it's teething or mild lactose intolerance. And I'm even more stumped at the lack of breastfeeding he's doing. Is he self weaning, and I should just let it go, or is he feeling crappy and I'm going to need to keep up my supply for when he feels better?
Snotty, sleeping like crap and decrease in nursing sounds like teething. The congestion makes it hard for baby to breathe and drink at the same time.
Trying to sell crap on my bst. Lady just came to look at a cooking pot. It won't work for her needs, and she talked so loud she woke up the baby from nap. Damnit.
H's aunt (fil sister) just wrote me this on fb: So what's the deal with all your breastfeeding posts? Did someone shame you for breastfeeding? It's such a natural thing but you seem to post a lot about it. What's the story? I guess I don't understand why so many posts about it.
I just wrote that it was World Breastfeeding Week because I don't really want to stir the pot with this side of the family. I jfc with them though. I mean what's it to her if I post bf stuff for one week in the last year?!
It really rubbed me the wrong way. Was she out of line? Or does she eat crackers because of who she is related to? Or both?
packmomma how dare you post that one single thing about breastfeeding! I had to go look. She's out of line I would say, but I bet she also eats crackers because of relation.
aydee I can't wait to hear how the twins did with the first day of preschool!
Does anyone else ever look at some of the ads you get and try to figure out what you looked at that caused it? I just got one for hemp extract. The only thing I can think of was looking for Phish onesies yesterday. We're taking M to one night when they're here in October so of course it warrants a special outfit.

hiimjamie L turned one on Saturday and no walking over here either
packmomma that would've annoyed me. Like who cares?
ampaints haha sometimes! Or sometimes a fall down a parenting celebrity rabbit hole or shopping thread and then my ads are soooo weird after.
I have a bug bite (unknown bug) that has swollen throughout the day and is blistering everywhere and turning deep purple the size of a golf ball around the bite. It's so weird but now I think I have to go to the dr to make sure it's not something like Lyme. I'm pretty sure all the ticks are gone by now but wtf haha. I have weird luck.
